This is for all the grooming business owners out there know that I’m looking for work. I was given 2-3 months max to vacate my space 2 days ago because the landlord decided to open a pet store. She obviously have been planning this for a
while but decided to wait until when she’s ready to launch to tell me. Honestly I’ve been in business for 15 years in this town, and it’s getting to a point that I’d like to retire……not from grooming but from being a business owner. I want to continue to dedicate my time to all the pups that have known me for years, some their entire life thus far, without the headaches of running a business. I’m extremely reliable and hard working. I guarantee that I’ll be an asset to your business if you will have me.

Meet Termini!

“Mimi” is an adorable little female Cavachon, retired breeding mama, who weighs in about 15lbs and is (approximately) 3 years old. She is a loving, timid soul who is learning to live life as a beloved pet.
Mimi is house trained, leashed trained and knows how to walk on leash. We have found she seems to need movement/activity in order to go “potty” so she needs to go for walks or run around in the yard to be able to relieve herself. She loves to cuddle with her foster mom, and her K9 sisters, to play with squeaky toys, and run and play with her fellow foster dog. She is always ready for belly rubs, treats and sleeping in her favorite spot(next to foster mom in bed).
Mimi is a gentle little girl who is still unsure of people and the world around her. She is her foster mom’s shadow and enjoys constant interaction and praise from her but when she is not with her “mom” she is with one of her foster dog siblings

Meet Bechamel!

Breed: Poodle Bichon mix

DOB: 7/6/23

Gender: male

Home Recommendation: Bechamel is very young and is looking for an home who is home more often than not to spend time playing and training him!

Personality: Béchamel is a loving, gentle puppy who wants nothing more than to be cuddled! He takes advantage of his small size to fit perfectly in your lap. He may be shy at first greeting, but once he quickly warms up to you, he shows you his fun, goofy personality.

Kids: He would do well with kids of above the age of 6 due to his small size

Dogs: Yes! He loves other dogs and having a fur sibling would help show him the ropes.

Cats: Yes, he would be fine in a home with cats.

Crate Trained: Working on it!

House Trained: Working on it!

Training: Bechamel is very young and is working on puppy manners and basic obedience. He will need continued training to help him become the best dog he can be! Since he has never been in a home prior to being rescued, he is learning how to walk on a leash and go up and down stairs.

Why did he come to WISE? Puppy mills overbreed to the point where they produce more dogs than they can sell. Dogs like Bechamel were rejected for reasons ranging from birth defects, being born with the wrong color fur or eyes, or just simply because no one wanted to purchase them. When the dogs are not sold, the puppy mills destroy them, and it is legal to do so. WISE has recently partnered with a group to save these unwanted dogs - healthy, unhealthy, and/or with birth defects - who are destined to be killed for no reason.

I posted this to let folks know that I’m taking Thursday and Friday in the new year and it hasn’t been well received. Just to emphasize that I have a great team to take care of pups in my absence and I’m kept abreast of everything that goes on in the shop. I’m 71 years old and a stage 4 ovarian cancer survivor, and clients that’s been with me for a while know that I’m very dedicated to my business because I worked through chemo therapy. I should be retired but haven’t because I love and care for all the pups that walk through the door of my shop. However, I DO need rest for whatever time I may have left. My business has grown tremendously through the years due to my loyal and trusting clients of which I’m very grateful for, but I couldn’t possibly groom every dog by myself and still keep up with demand, which is the reason I trained a team of great people to help me. I work Sunday - Wed if you’d like to book with me exclusively, the wait will be long but I’ll do my best to accommodate.

As of January of 2023, I will be taking time off Thursday and Friday. I have a highly skilled team trained by me to take care of the pups that come in during those days.

Inflation has caused a huge jump in my operating cost, and I have no choice but to increase grooming fees by $10 to $20 in the new year depending on size of the dog. All golden retrievers and doodles over 45 lbs will start at $125 depending on coat condition, cut, and temperament.

Just a reminder for the remainder of this week:

Hi just giving you the heads up that grooming will take longer because we’re very busy, and we’ve been working long hours 7 days a week. I want my team to take a little break between dogs so that all pups get groomed safely and properly. I may not be able to answer calls/text if you check on status, but I’ll text you as soon as they’re done.

I’ve tried to do this before but I never held up to it. I’ll no longer accept Venmo payments starting 1/1/23*. Some clients forget to pay me, and I find myself having to remind them and a couple of them actually get offended when I do. I don’t know any business that would allowed us to leave without paying for goods and services rendered.
