I just spoke to the Constables office and the Sheriff's department....
As of 1:45 today you are allowed to come to The Grounds and get items,but you will not be allowed to stay.

Update to the “Game Preserve Fire” 9/1/23 - 2345 Hours.

The wildfire is approaching the feeder road on IH 45 between The Huntsville Livestock Auction Barn and Cedar Ridge Rd.
At this time, the acreage is at 1200 acres and is approximately 10 % contained.

We have urged residents on Cedar Ridge Rd to evacuate.

We have measures to close the freeway if needed in place.
We urge all to stay away from the feeder rd from FM 1696 E. to FM 2989 along IH 45.

There are numerous federal, state, county, out of county agencies and departments working in a unified command to ensure that this fire is stopped.

Please monitor the Walker County OEM page for updates to this incident.
