Happy Healthy Pets Pet Sitting just completed an 8-hour long Pet Saver class which encompassed pet first aid, rescue breathing, CPR for pets, and senior dog care and dental care. All of our pet sitting clients can rest assured that we are up to date on first aid techniques should the need ever arise.

I received my new Dog-Powered Scooter last week, Chad at Outdoor Motion put it together for me and Harley and I have been out scootering several times. Harley easily took to the scooter but he hasn't quite figured out that he's supposed to pull me. Hopefully that will come in time!

DEATH BY VACCINOSIS: HEARTBREAKING VET RECORDS

This article is very interesting and the video definitely concludes that pulling titers in lieu of vaccination leaves much to be desired. But I would rather do that than vaccinate my animals every year with something they don't need.

Gruesome photos and actual case records of veterinary malpractice through unregulated over-vaccination tell the story dog owners must learn.

Collin had his annual vet visit in May. We pulled titers on him instead of vaccinating. The results came back showing that he has antibody protection against all the diseases we tested him for. That was good news.

Happy Healthy Pets attended the Paws on Parade pet expo on Saturday at the McLeod County Fairgrounds. The event was very well organized and was a fun event. Unfortunately, the weather conditions put a damper on the attendance. Terry Libro of the MWCR came and shared the booth with me. I brought Molly my foster collie along. Terry is going to be adopting Molly so she got to spend some bonding time with her girl!

Heart of Minnesota Animal Shelter - Hutchinson, MN

Happy Healthy Pets will be setting up at the Paws on Parade pet expo event this Saturday, May 21st at the McLeod County Fairgrounds. Minnesota Wisconsin Collie Rescue will be sharing the table with me. We are planning on bringing Collin and Molly, two MWCR rescues. Come visit us on Saturday. Bring your dog with and walk it in the dog walk to raise money for the Heart of Minnesota shelter.

With all the snow and ice outside this year, my dogs were having trouble with ice and snow pellets getting lodged between their toes. An easy remedy is to clip their nails so they can have better footing on ice and trim off all the hair on the bottom of their feet.

Collin passed his TDI (Therapy Dogs International) test on December 18th, cleared the physical and we're waiting for our badge to start going out on therapy visits. We are hoping we can get into one of the local elementary schools to start a "Tail Waggin' Tutor" program where kids read to dogs in a relaxed atmosphere. I'm so proud of Collin for being such a willing participant in the therapy training process!

Colin and I started therapy dog classes on Monday evening. This time we're going through TDI (Therapy Dogs International) versus Delta. Delta is becoming so restrictive both cost-wise and with rules regarding what you can feed your dog, etc.
We will be taking the test on Saturday, Dec. 18th. Wish us luck next month.
