********Wiggle Butt Wednesday---SPECIAL EDITION*********

I have to do it early... well cause I'm going to a terrible place tomorrow... the dentist. To have a tooth yanked from my head with plyers. Hopefully you guys feel sorry for me. I'm feeling extremely sorry for myself.

*******************************************************************
Max was surrendered to a local vet tech by a woman that I have blocked on social media and our landlines. She has surrendered numerous dogs to me and this local vet tech. Shes a breeder that has lots of dogs in lots of different houses.

All of the dogs she needs to surrender are Major Medical. And by that I mean a minimum of 5K to fix. After we fix her dogs up. She claims I've stole them... even though she's brought some of them here, signed a surrender form, etc. She then blasts all over Facebook that we profit off of her dogs... not sure how that would be possible when our adoption fees aren't even 10% of what her dogs have cost. And demands them back. Which obviously doesn't happen.

Then a couple of months will go by and she will need to surrender another one. They usually end up getting to me.. somehow so blocking her did no good... not that I don't want to help her dogs but the stress her mouth puts on the rescue is almost too much. Shes calls the store, cussed my employees out and bombarding our social media with threats. Even had the nerve to tell me I caused her a heart attack because I wouldn't give her the last "Max" back. Yes that's right... a lot of her dogs are named the same.. cause she share vet records with the other dogs in her kennel.. so she has vet records when AC (Animal Control) comes knockin.... so everyone is Max and Laila.

My Max... the one below he's actually loved here. He's an individual.. and the ONLY Max we have. He has a bilateral perineal hernia. His organs in the pelvic and abdominal region are displaced. He has swelling on his side because of his pelvic diaphragm has weakened and they are being pushed over. He will die if we do not give him this surgery. I have tried to push the surgery as long as I could to save up the 6K. It is time now!!! He has a lot of bleeding!

So this Wiggle Butt Wednesday Raffle is a 50/50- A customer has donated $500.00 for me to do a 50/50. 50% goes to Max and 50% goes to the donor that wins the WAFFLE Spin!!! So come out and donate $10 to MAX for 1 chance to win $250.00 or donate $25 and get yourself 3 Chances to win $250.00!

The spin will be held Live on Thursday at 12pm!

Donate $15 for 1 chance or $25 for 3 chances to win!

When I got Ham's Embark test back yesterday I found out that she has a low ALT. This is important when she gets blood screening at the vets. Them seeing a low ALT would alert them to do more diagnostics to see what issue she could have. But its really just her genetics.. however since we know this.... if she ever comes up with a higher ALT but still within normal range.. there could still be an issue. Since she is normally low.. Also she has Copper Toxicosis.. which means she has difficulty excreting Copper from her liver. Which could be an indicator of the ALT issue.. So now I am armed with some good info.. stuff in her genetics that I would have never know. I am going to do a heavy metal detox on her.

I wanted to become an affiliate with embark so the rescue can benefit from these awesome tests.

Your Guide to Diarrhea... I know.... I know! But I am being hammered with questions lately... about p**p.

Most dog owners deal with diarrhea at one point or another, whether it’s a minor issue caused by overfeeding, a transition to a new diet or because of a more serious problem. It could be a one-time thing because your dog ate something he shouldn’t have or it could be the beginning of a more serious or chronic problem.

Most of the time, diarrhea is nature’s way of cleansing the body and removing toxins. Especially when we bring a dog into rescue.. most likely they have been eating something less than what's on par with what I feed the rescues and they are detoxing all of that "crap" literally out of their guts! This is why we send pumpkin out for each of our incoming fosters to the rescue.

When your dog has diarrhea, you’ll want to provide care for your dog so he’s comfortable, but it’s important not to suppress this natural elimination process, unless your dog’s diarrhea is severe. Sometimes you might see a small amount of blood or mucus in your dog’s stool when the intestinal bacteria are out of balance, but this isn’t necessarily something to worry about.

Diarrhea is caused by too much fluid entering the intestinal tract. This can interfere with the digestion process and may result in malabsorption and severe dehydration if you don’t deal with it. From a holistic perspective, diarrhea is a byproduct of systemic dysfunction or the body’s effort to eliminate some form of excess. Normally, nutrients pass through intestinal mucous membranes to enter the bloodstream. As part of this metabolic process, the membranes allow a certain amount of water, bile and other digestive fluids to enter the intestinal tract from the body.

When too much fluid gets into the intestinal tract for whatever reason, loose stool is the result.

Most Cases of Diarrhea with the fosters are usually short lived and are caused by food change and/or parasites. Always mix pumpkin into your fosters food to avoid any upset. You may still see loose stool. But if it persists then please ask the rescue for slippery elm.

Chronic Problems
If your dog’s digestive problems are chronic, with symptoms that reoccur or are always present, there could be serious underlying problems at work. Inflammatory bowel disease or ulcerative colitis can be very painful and you’ll need to consult let us know! Especially If you're not sure whether your dog’s digestive issues are acute or chronic, see your vet anyway.

We do have a few cases of chronic diarrhea within the rescue especially with the frenchies.... a lot of frenchies have IBD and need to be on a limited ingredient gently cooked or raw diet. These diets are available at Carolina Pet Pantry along with great advice.

Opt for Slippery elm or plantain; these herbs combine their tannin constituents with the soothing and protecting effects of mucilage, a water-soluble plant constituent that soothes, lubricates and helps reduce inflammation that may be contributing to the diarrhea. These remedies are much safer and more effective than Kaopectate and Pepto Bismol, both of which contain salicylates and are unsafe for dogs. Most commonly prescribed by vets antibiotics – usually tylosin (Tylan) or metronidazole (Flagyl) – to stop it. The problem here is that antibiotics just suppress the symptoms.

Again, remember that diarrhea is a natural process and your dog needs to eliminate the things that his body doesn’t like. Diarrhea is the body’s way of getting rid of the problem so suppressing it is not a good idea. Also, antibiotics can negatively affect the good bacteria in your dog’s gut forever, so it’s best to avoid these drugs if you can.

When Precious came in she had ear infections so bad she had a head tilt. Those have been treated and she is turning into a playful puppy. Similar to Bertha she is a puppy that needs to learn some manners. But she is well on her way. Precious has a discounted adoption fee... in case your on the fence! Shes.... well... shes Precious guys!!!!

Precious is estimated to be 8 months or so (as of March 2024). She weighs around 30 lbs. Precious is a happy puppy with a lot of energy and very playful. Older dogs may not appreciate her excitement. She would be okay with other dogs or being an only dog. We don’t know how she’d do with cats because we haven’t been around cats with her.
We don’t know how she would do with kids under 10 either as we’ve not had little ones around her. Our youngest is 16 and she loves playing with him.
Precious does well in the car - we’ve had no issues there. She does not do well in a crate.
We tried to crate her for the night when we first got her and she struggled to calm down and she peed and p**ped in her crate. Now that she’s doing better with accidents and can hold her business until the following morning, it may be worth trying to crate train her.
She gets excited around people at home, especially her people and jumps on them so need to work on manners. She’s doing ok on a leash but still pulls and takes off suddenly.
When seeing other dogs on walks, she wants to play. She’s about 80% house trained.
Because she wasn’t house trained when we got her, we walked her often at first and are now at about 4x/day. In the mornings she signals by whining and/or waking us up with a paw pat. We’ve also noticed she goes to the door and that may be a signal to go outside (we take her out when she does that) or she just wants to go outside because she loves playing on grass.
We don’t know how she would do left alone to roam the house when no one is home since we keep her in our master bathroom when we have to leave her alone. She whines and barks if left alone but settles down shortly after.
We have 2 gates that aren’t secured but just stand up to block our dog from entry into different rooms and Precious has breached both without a problem. Ha! Our dog has never even tried!
She has not jumped on any of our furniture believe or not - prefers laying on the floor by us.
We’ve not observed any guarding issues with people, food, toys, space/areas, and/or beds.
We’ve not observed separation anxiety and she seems to be ok when we’re not home. Although we’ve not left her alone longer than a few hours.
She does fine with bathing and is tolerant of having facial folds, ears, and tail pocket cleaned.
We’ve only had her nails clipped by groomer but should be ok done at home.
She likes squeaky balls and stuffed animals. LOVES going outside and rolling on the grass.
She’s still a puppy - don’t think she’s ever gone up and down stairs beyond the few steps up and down the front door.
Reaction to loud noises (thunder, fireworks, yelling, etc.)? Not tested
Know any cues or tricks? Will sit for a treat
Snores? Lightly
Snuggle interest? Not really
Energy level? Moments of high energy but mainly likes to lay around
Dominant or submissive? Not sure
Fenced yard required? Probably
Okay to live in an apartment or condo with close neighbors and be in the apartment complex dog areas which are likely to have other dogs? Yes
Reaction to strangers in and outside the home and to new situations (fearful, laid-back, anxious, happy)? She growls at strangers outside sometimes; ok with strangers in the home
Anxious? No
Long-term physical limitations or conditions? She tilts her head to the right regularly. Vet said would need a CT scan to determine cause. Also said it does not hurt her and she has full motion of neck.
Long-term medications? None
Feeding: Stella and Chewy Freeze-dried Raw Coated Kibble - Wild Caught Whitefish Recipw 1.5 cups 2 x/day plus 2 tbs of pumpkin with each meal per Vet recommendation for added fiber to help regulate her bowls;
ANY FOOD ALLERGIES None known FAVORITE TREATS: Stella and Chewy Wild Weenies beef
Unique characteristics: head tilt to right
She’s the happiest being loved on and playing on the floor with her humans. She loves going out and rolling on the grass. Still needs a little bit of work on a leash and responding when called.
Ideal home would be with another small dog to have a friend. She loves her humans and likes to follow them around so preferably at a home where she’s not left alone long hours.
If interested in Precious, send Courtney a text at the dedicated Approved Adopters number. This is not her personal cell but she will respond as quickly as possible.

I met this kid for the first time at Bullie Que he's something guys so sweet so appreciative for a bed and a bowl of food... and lemme tell you what you will get in return is not measurable. I want him so bad. I just wanna make sure the rest of his life is just as good as it is with his foster mom and dad. So if you are truly following me because you truly wanna rescue.. he's the one.

Former outdoor boy Sobek the sweetheart is ready for his forever home and excited to live inside the house with his forever family.
***If you have NOT YET BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT, PLEASE FILL OUT AN APPLICATION ONLINE AT WWW.BULLIES2theRESCUE.COM

Do you have a cushy orthopedic bed, lots of wild weenies and, ideally, a one-story house to make it easy for this vision limited guy to get around? Would you like to show Sobek that life can be good, and get to live with an absolute sweetheart of a dog? Then this may be the guy for you! Sobek came to us as a stray, and his issues show he was not used to an easy life. But we've attended to what we could, and while he has limited vision and an arthritic elbow, he's doing so much better and, best of all, is starting to realize that humans will take care of him and life is good! He loves bully sticks and a good couch cuddle, as well as a cushy and comfy dog bed to call his own (and while he's not a constant snorer when he gets going, you'll know there is a bulldog in the house!). He is so easy going: dogs, cats, new people, loud sounds.... no worries! He's already learned "crate" and goes to his bowl at meal time, and is doing well at potty training, though he'll need some extra patience as he gets the hang of all the rules. He's a sweet, gentle soul, looking for a forever that can give him the love and comfort he deserves. Is it you?

Good with Dogs? Yes. Sobek is good with his foster sibling dogs but he would also be okay with being the only dog.

Good with Cats? He hasn’t been around cats a lot but when he has been he has been mostly curious.

Good with Kids over 6? Yes

Behavior while riding in a vehicle? Sobek loves car rides but he needs a little assistance with getting in the car.

Manners: Good. He’s charming. Sobek’s resilience and sweet nature given his circumstances are beyond words. He is a sweet gentle soul and has so much love to give. His little woos for treats when we are in the kitchen are heartmelting.

Walks well on a harness and leash? Yes, Sobek does not mind a harness and leash at all and he doesn’t pull but given his age and arthritis, he prefers to go do his business and come right back in. He loves being outside just not long walks. He doesn’t pay attention to other dogs when we are on one of those short walks. He’s very easy that way.

House trained? We are still working on potty training from ground zero has Sobek was likely an outside dog before being rescued by B2TR. At his foster home, Sobek does wonderfully when he is in his gated area and will bark to let you know it is time to go outside. He is only gated at this time because we still have some accidents once in a while when free-roaming the house. In his new home, he would need to continue with potty training and would need some time to adjust to his new surroundings as his eyesight is very limited. There may be a few bumps here and there but he is getting around very well in his foster home.

Crate trained? Yes, and given his limited eyesight, we have not attempted to leave the home without Sobek being crated or in his gated area. He can knock down baby gates if not secured but not aggressively. He just wants to be wherever you are.

Likes to be on the furniture? Like we said, he’s easy. Sobek enjoys the occasional cuddle on the couch but is also perfectly happy in his dog bed on the floor near you.

Are there any resource-guarding issues with guarding people, food, toys, space/areas, and/or beds? Sobek can be a little protective over his food, but he’s not aggressive. He does great waiting his turn for treats with the other dogs and does not try to steal treats from others when it is not his turn. However, he can be protective when it comes to his actual food and bowl at feeding time so he’ll be best fed separately (which honestly is standard practice for our fosters in most of their foster homes).

Separation Anxiety? None. Sobek typically sleeps in his crate when no one is home.

Bathing behavior? Tolerant of having facial folds, ears, and tail pocket cleaned? No issues with bathing or cleaning. Having his tail pocket cleaned is not his favorite but he’s okay. He doesn’t even mind being dried with the blow-dryer.

Behavior while having nails trimmed? Dremel or clipped? Does not mind. We have only used the clippers but will be trying the Dremel soon.

Favorite type of toys? Hard toys are his favorite and he loves his Benebone fish bone shaped chew.

Favorite activity? At the moment his favorite activity is sleeping but we have begun seeing him be more interested in playing with chew toys. Give him a bully stick and he is on cloud nine for a good little bit.

Good with stairs? No, due to his limited vision, he is very cautious about stairs and usually will not even attempt them. He is good with the one step on our porch and at the door but nothing more than that. In the past few days, he has become curious about upstairs and with work, it is something that he may become comfortable with but ideally, he would be best in a home where he could avoid many stairs.

Reaction to loud noises (thunder, fireworks, yelling, etc.)? None

Know any cues or tricks? Sobek knows “crate” and to go to his bowl when it is time to eat.

Snores? Yes but who doesn’t love a good bulldog snore. He doesn’t snore every time but when he does you know you have a bulldog in your home.

Snuggle interest? His snuggle interest at the moment is low but is slowly learning more and more about what cuddles are all about and enjoying it.

Energy level? Low

Dominant or submissive? When Sobek arrived at his foster home he was completely shut down and it has taken some time for his personality to start to show. Based on what we have observed thus far, I would say that he is more submissive. (Doggie Shrink Warning: This is not a personality trait, it is a descriptive term that is used to describe an interaction between two individuals in a single social interaction. It should not be used to label any animal, regardless of species, because bad TV has given the general public the wrong idea of how these dogs must be handled.)

Fenced yard required? No

Okay to live in an apartment or condo with close neighbors and be in the apartment complex dog in areas that are likely to have other dogs? Yes

Reaction to strangers in and outside the home and to new situations (fearful, laid-back, anxious, happy)? Laid back and typically uninterested.

Long-term physical limitations or conditions? Long-term medications? Glaucoma in the left eye with no visibility in that eye, limited vision in the right eye, and arthritis in his left elbow. Sobek will need to be kept on an anti-inflammatory to assist with arthritis but no other medications at this time.

Feeding: Sobek eats Stella and Chewy wild caught blend and gets 1 1/2 cups twice a day. Wild Weenies for treats. Sobek’s mantra? Who says you can’t have 10 wild weenies in a day?
REMINDER: Bulldogs should not eat winged proteins such as chicken, turkey, duck, etc., no grains, no sweet or regular potatoes, and need to be kept on a grain-free, limited ingredient diet to reduce allergic reactions such as itching, yeast, ear infections, hot spots, interdigital cysts, etc.

Sobek was found as a stray in South Carolina and was pulled from the shelter by the B2TR.

Coco is ready to be adopted!
***If you have NOT BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT FROM B2TR, PLEASE FILL OUT AN APPLICATION ONLINE AT WWW.BULLIES2theRESCUE.COM

Age: 4

Weight: 37 lbs.

Good with Dogs? Coco has a dominant personality and will assert herself. She loves to play with dogs her size but isn’t a fan of dogs bigger than she is. She doesn't like to share toys. She loves to play with our Frenchie as long as it is on her terms. She just wants to be with her people. She would be fine with slow introductions to a submissive dog or on her own as an only dog.

Good with Cats? Unknown. But she has done fine with a submissive Chihuahua in her foster home.

Good with Kids over 6? No kids at this time. Like many Frenchies Coco can get mouthy when she’s over-excited and she doesn’t always let people near her food bowl. Currently, Coco is frightened of new people she doesn’t know so a quieter home without children would be best.

Behavior while riding in a vehicle? She did fine in a crate for transport. She was very calm and just kinda looked around. She seems always ready to ride!! Every time someone goes to the car she tries to get in. I have not tried her outside the crate in the car.

Manners: Coco loves people!! She gets really (Frenchie style) excited!! She is very sweet and wants to please but she can play rough when she’s excited. She takes treats very gently and is eager to please. She will jump up to get attention and has mastered the steps to get on the couch.

Walks well on a harness and leash? She is still working on walking on leash. She is very inquisitive and loves her sniffing time.

House trained? Yes and her crate has remained clean when she has had to be in it.

Crate trained? Seems to be. Will go in her crate but she does not like it.

Is your foster okay to not be crated and out in the house when no one is home? Unknown at this time. We have kept her crated when no one is home.

Feelings about space restrictions? (ex: Crate aggressive? Knocks down baby gates? Whines or barks?) Coco doesn’t like to be away from her people. She will get super excited and sit on you and will nip a bit if she’s amped. She does well with redirection to a toy to get out her nervous energy.

Likes to be on the furniture? Yes, she has mastered using steps to get up and down on the couch and she likes sleeping in the human bed.

Are there any resource-guarding issues with guarding people, food, toys, space/areas, and/or beds? Is the guarding behavior directed at other dogs or people? Yes. Coco will not share her toys with other dogs and does not always allow people near her food bowl. She will sometimes resource guard her person from the other dogs in her foster home.

Separation Anxiety? How does your foster react when you are not home? She goes in her crate when I leave with very little issue and is excited to be let out when I get home. Her crate is clean and she goes straight out to potty and is very happy.

Bathing behavior? Tolerant of having facial folds, ears, and tail pocket cleaned? We have not been able to bathe her yet due to her spay scar healing. She enjoys a good wrinkle clean of her face and tail area. She is wiggly. I feel like she has had wrinkle cleaning before. And does just fine with wiping her ears as well.

Behavior while having her nails trimmed? Her nails were cut at the vet's when she was spayed but she doesn’t seem to mind when I touch her paws

Favorite type of toys? Coco likes both soft toys and hard chews. She loves to self-soothe with a soft toy when she is anxious.

Favorite activity? Being with her person. She’s a little diva who loves people.

Good with stairs? Seems to be

Know any cues or tricks? She knows No and comes when she is called most of the time.

Snores? Yes

Snuggle interest? Yes - lots.

Energy level? Medium. Coco is initiating play with our Frenchie and Chihuahua but is still not sure about playing with the big dogs. She can get a little wild and worked up when someone sits on the couch. We have been talking calmly to her and trying to redirect her to a toy to soothe herself so and calm down.

Dominant or submissive? Dominant.

Maybe. A play yard where she can get off leash would work too. She is doing great with recall when she is out exploring our fenced yard.

Okay to live in an apartment or condo with close neighbors and be in the apartment complex dog areas which are likely to have other dogs? Yes

Reaction to strangers in and outside the home and to new situations (fearful, laid-back, anxious, happy): She is fearful of new people and takes a bit to warm up. She will bark and her fur will stand up. But with reassurance and slow movements she warms up quickly. She tends to gravitate towards women but warmed up to my husband in a couple hours.

Long-term physical limitations or conditions? Long-term medications? She may be showing early signs of IVDD.

Feeding: Farmina N&D Ocean though she needs a new flavor. She is eating it sometimes but will turn her nose up at it and walk away from her bowl when it is first put down. She gets 3/4 of cup twice a day if she finishes her bowl. She loves the Stella and Chewy Wild Weenies Red Meat Recipe treats.

What are some of the great things about your foster and is there anything he/she needs to work on or have continued training for in their new home? She is very sweet but can be pushy at times. She still needs to work on her leash training.
