We have lots to do during rainy day lessons 🐎🌧️ groomed, cleaned the stall, brushed out our ponies mane and tail, practiced braiding, learned about horse colors, and saw a rainbow 🌈 😍

We got our Cowpoke Class started last night and had a blast! The Cowpokes learned barn safety, how to groom, all about horse colors, worked on the basics of riding and ended with coloring some chalk ponies in the tack room! What a fun evening filled with learning! We're looking forward to next week!

We managed to carry enough water to help the stranded unicorn ducks! And we stayed cool with our cowgirl scarves again 🦄🐎🦆 apparently Mika thought it was exhausting so she caught a few 💤 while we took pictures 😅

The heat didn't scare away the Hodgeman County 4Hers. We kept cool with some wet cowboy scarves, practiced horsemanship, played water games, and had fun with a game of horse bumper cars! The kids didn't want the lesson to end! ❤️🐎🦄

I'm thinking of having a "Find the Fly Boot" day 🤣 there's one pink one and one blue one somewhere in the back 40. I sure as heck haven't been able to find them, but I have been enjoying daily pasture rides while looking 🐎😍

Some showmanship followed with a trail ride this morning. These two didn't want to drop their "plates of cookies" and were very good at pointing their toes at their horses! We'll be working on our showmanship trot just as ALL 4Hers should be this month 😁

Grace visited the Ranch Salon and had some blue tail extensions put in and she got a shiny new pair of fly boots. Doesn't she look fabulous? 😆 She also gave her first lesson today and the two of them did great together! 😍

Jake has been making progress! He joined up with me for the first time on Thursday, but today I didn't even have to lunge him, he just immediately joined up with me and paid no attention to where the other horses were! We have also been doing exercises that switch between desensitize and sensitize. These are both ways to teach a horse to focus on us and build our leadership in the relationship which are what a buddy sour horse struggles with. We had a lovely ride on my clover pattern after our ground work today!

I've been working with Suzy Q for Pitts Performance Horses and today was her first saddling. At first it startled her a bit but she quickly realized it wasn't gonna eat her 😁🤠🐎

This spring I introduced a progressive curriculum to my program and students have been working on accomplishing everything in the first level. This student successfully completed all the lessons and skills for Cowpoke Level Horsemanship and received her Gold Scarf! Great job and keep up the good work! 🤠🤩🐎

Jake is here for a tune up! His mom told him he was coming to summer camp 🤠 normally camp is about making friends, but our first lessons have been addressing buddy sourness and learning that we don't need friends 🤣

Cowgirl was not on her best behavior last week so I decided we better practice our ground work with her. My student did very well learning to lunge and even got Cowgirl to join up! She is certainly not the easiest one to do this exercise with so it was quite special 🐎😍

So....we are in the market for a horse trailer 😑 a tire fell off ours this weekend. Praise God it happened on our property and not on the highway 🙏🙏🙏 we went down to Ashland on Saturday and this happened when I was putting the trailer away the next morning 😳 but after talking to Trailer Solutions we aren't feeling that it is worth us having this trailer fixed. If you are selling a trailer or want a fixer upper please reach out!
