Happy Thursday!
It has been on my heart to take off on this adventure for a very long time. However I always felt like I wasn’t qualified enough or had enough experience to embark into the dog training/Law Enforcement K9 world. I refuse to discount anyone’s experience as a dog handler or trainer because we all bring different tools to the table.
So I asked myself this.
Why can’t we all work together to make improvements in the K9 world? What’s stopping us from that?
A close friend/trainer of mine always taught me that “every dog trainer’s argument is that the other trainer is wrong”.
Why are we doing this?!!!
We can accomplish worlds in this community if we would step off the high horse of “wanting to be right” and work together!! Accept all of each others tools and add them to our tool boxes to use as needed!!
Yes I agree, there will be times that some of us will need to politely disagree on a method or issue and it happens.
This is why I have named my business “Joint Operation K9”.
Like I stated before, I will never discount anyone’s experience nor qualifications and to be quite honest I’m not doing this to compete with the likes of the premier K9 Training facilities in the Houston/gulf coast area. (Houston K9 Academy, Pacesetter, Integrity, Harris County Sheriff, Baytown PD, Triumph K9, Waller County Sheriff etc)They are all great trainers and do wonderful work.
I simply want to see us come together as a TEAM to make a difference in this canine world.
For those interested these are my qualifications:
3 years as a K9 Deputy in Waller County
Assigned by the Sheriff as one of the Canine Trainers
4 dual purpose (Patrol Apprehension/Tracking Narcotics) Certifications
One Narcotics DLE Certification
(When you break this down it’s 9 certifications)
Completed multiple training courses at Houston K9 Academy and Pacesetter K9.
6 years total in Law Enforcement
I can offer
Obedience Training
Law enforcement related training as it applies to narcotics, patrol and apprehension/tracking and man hunting. (Perimeters and the like)
