Today is going to be a very hard day for me.
Twenty years ago I married my best friend, Jerry “OB” OBannon. Unfortunately he was taken from me by Covid on 9/25/21. It still feels like yesterday. I keep waiting for him to walk through the door at any minute. The pain is still sometimes almost unbearable.

For those of you who still have your spouses (or significant others), please be sure and take the time to tell them how much you love them. You could look around one day and they be gone.

Another interesting litter!

We bred a black/cream girl to a chocolate/cream piebald boy. We got a cream boy, a chocolate based cream/red girl and Faux blue dapple girl. At least that is what I was told this color was called.

She looks blue/cream and did have a little dappling at birth. I would normally just register her as a blue/cream dapple except her mother looked exactly like her when she was a baby, and she turned out to be a black/cream. I am curious to see what she will turn out to be. We are awaiting testing results. Is anybody familiar with the faux blue color?

Update: Rtg now

I bred a very light ee cream girl to a shaded cream boy and what did I get?

Two solid black and a black/cream. SURPRISE!!! And all boys. Not a surprise. About 90% of all the puppies I have had in the past 2 years have been all boys.

One of the solid black boys has been scooped up already, but the other one and their black/ cream brother are looking for their forever homes. Please PM for more information.

Buyer Beware!

Some breeders, either unethical or uneducated, are selling red dogs and calling them sables, and using results from genetic testing labs to prove their claim. These labs use different terms than AKC. A true sable, according to the AKC standard, which is the standard all breeders should use, describes a sable as having two different colors on ONE hair. It is a lighter color at the base and darker at the end. They are fairly rare in Dachshunds Do not be fooled. I have attached pictures of a true sable below

Felix, the brindle, is such a sweetheart. He never wants to get more than a few feet from you.

Chester, the cream brindle, will make an excellent stud. He has tons of coat and carries the chocolate and piebald genes. I just may have to keep this guy

We just love return customers!!!

This wonderful couple flew in from California 3 years ago to purchase a cream male. They named him Miso.

Now they live in Arkansas and drove down to pick up Liberty, one of our retired females.

Liberty ( the black/tan) has found her forever home.

We have several retired females that are looking for their forever homes. They have all their shots & wormings, are housebroken and crate trained, and have been spayed. They are very sweet and loving. They deserve a great home. Can you give it to them?

Twenty-seven years ago today, my husband, Timothey Daniel Clakley, was killed in a car accident, leaving me and our two children, and two other children without a husband and a father. We still love and miss him.

OBannon, we were together 23 years. only to lose him 2 years ago to Covid.
