Jefe is such a mommas boy. He comes looking for me several times a day. I couldn’t find him the other morning and eventually found him upset and hiding behind the barn. Guapo has been unusually jealous lately and has bit and swiped Jefe several times causing an infection. Dr H has him on antibiotics which he gladly take in a banana or strawberry “pill pocket”. I cuddled him a bit longer as he dreamt and snored. So glad he found us.❤️
o this happened today.🫣 We do not breed at our sanctuary but accidents happen. David & Alexis (both girls) have been hiding under the patio in the far back corner since we were on vacation. Today they revealed why. Even though this was an unplanned quad delivery who doesn’t love baby ducks. They are all settled in there temporary home in our shop until we can setup a more permanent spot. In the meantime watch for updates on our coparenting sisters little family.🫶🏼

We had a new visitor. Checked out our ducks before prowling past our living room window foaming at the mouth.😳 Our kitty Ducky is freaked and rightfully so!

Now she comes to the back door every morning and squaks until i feed her. I have been on somewhat of a social media break. I have been trying to do some self care while juggling working outside the home & making changes at the sanctuary. I’ve also been struggling seeing so many posts about animal cruelty. Not sure if there have been more than usual or if I just zone in on them.
I want to get back to sharing for a couple reasons. It’s not fair to our monthly donors and it’s been a financial burden not sharing or holding events through the winter.
I also wanted to share with you the sweetest, most heartfelt gesture in our years of rescue.
Billie is a young lady that follows us on social media with her mom’s guidance. When we saved a goat from a kill pen the goat was terrified. Even though we provided a warm and loving home she had too much trauma to trust. After posting about bringing her home Billie told her mom she thought she needed a sweet name, like Hannah. Billie also wanted to donate her tooth fairy money and the money her dad had to give her everytime he didn’t wear his seatbelt. WHAT kid does that!? Billie!💖 We named our sweet innocent goat Hannah. I am so thrilled to know kids are learning compassion for animals and taking steps to prove it. We hope you come visit if you are in our area one day Billie. Thank you for following us and donating such wonderful gift!!💞

The only time Charlie isn’t scared of people is the drive thru at Starbucks. We has ptsd from when were burglarized when he was home alone. He has never been the same. Now he recognizes a Starbucks as a Puppacino😆 He is so stinkin smart!
Please send healing thoughts to Ducky. She is going in for a follow up from her spay last week. She hasn’t been getting better and now has what seems to be either a seroma or hernia. I will update you as we know more.🫶🏼
