So I have sad news. For those of you who knew and loved Michael Buggs German Shepherd Sadie, she passed away last weekend. Sadie spent most of her first five years here while Dad worked, was a friend to people and dogs alike. She was the best girl and will be so missed 💔

At the JFM, we're proud to be a pet-friendly community hub where well-behaved dogs are more than welcome to join in on the fun!

Here are a few of our dog policies to make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience:
🐶 Dogs must be kept under control and by their human’s side at all times on a non-extendable leash no more than 6 feet long.
🐶 Dogs should be kept away from produce, plants, and food products. This means head and tail ends!
🐶 Please be considerate and remember that some people have allergies and not everyone is a dog lover.
🐶 Take your dog potty before the market and come prepared to clean up after them, if needed.
🐶 Most importantly, the JFM environment doesn’t suit all dogs. Please leave them happy at home if you know that your furry friend is highly anxious, dog reactive, or people reactive.

Isn't a sneeze just a sneeze❓
Yes... and no.
Dogs speak to us everyday.
Sometimes they "whisper", sometimes they "shout".
A lot of the communication can be quite subtle and it is the subtle communication that can be a bit trickier to pick up on.....and that subtle communication is what we need to look at more.
Dogs that have these "whispers" not listened or respected can go on to use more direct ways of communicating.

If you have a dog that has behavioural difficulties or is reactive......I urge you to pay attention to the "whispers".
If you start to recognise the smaller ways your dog communicates, you can stop escalations.
You can stop that barking, snarling, growling and lunges BEFORE they start.
Aggression can be the end result of all the other smaller "whispers" not being respected and no one wants that.

Start listening to the much smaller and seemingly "insignificant" ways dog communicate.
It makes such a difference.
