Psst... Down here, it's Teke! Happy Friday, y'all! We had something very wonderful happen at the farm the other day. The media picked it up and acknowledged some good deeds that we have done. It made us all feel great. For quite a while there's been someone who tries to rain on our parade any chance they get.

Here's what I think: we're going to open our umbrella up, and keep on dancing! Don't let negative influences get you down. Always look for the beautiful rainbow!

Great job Lilly and Lil! We love having our students ride ba****ck because it forces them to have a good seat. There's no saddle to use as a crutch. Notice Lilly is not hanging on the reins in order to maintain her balance either. That's never fair to the horse. If you can ride ba****ck well, you can ride well, period.

Audrey had a great first lesson on George! Staff focuses on guiding, speed control and stopping during their first lesson. Sounds a lot like driving a car, doesn't it?! Those three things are key if you're going to be a safe driver and they're also key if you're going to be a safe rider!

Laityn has a great seat and perfect posture! This will make it so much easier for her to feel the horse underneath her. Sitting in the saddle, rather than bracing your legs against the saddle, is key to feeling your horse's movement.

Some may think walking is boring. We feel that walking relaxed on a loose rein is extremely important as it shows that the rider is in control of their situation. Georgia and Spooky are demonstrating this important skill perfectly. She has a quiet seat and soft hands.

Celia and JJ are looking great! She did a wonderful job of slowing him down when he got a little fast. Soft hands are key. She made light contact with the reins and then released the pressure perfectly when he slowed down. You must release the pressure when the horse answers your request. Would you like someone constantly tugging on your face?! Take care of your horses and they'll take care of you. Great job, Celia!
