The Pound only picks up dogs INSIDE the city limits!! There is a town ordinance forbiding dogs to roam free inside city limits. We have a NEW adoption program.

After we have held a dog for 5 days they are considered " Town Property" & can be adopted out. General animal control for the Town of Jena. The adoption fee has been lowered to $10, and puppies are free! You also can recieve a spay/neuter discount at LaSalle Vet Clinic & Catahoula Vet Clinic (with a copy of your receipt & spay/neuter contract). Catahoula Vet Clinic is also giving a free rabies vaccine with your adoption receipt!

Good morning everyone! This beautiful ball of fur is looking for a great home! She is 1/2 pyrenees 1/2 lab! She is great with other dogs and children! Her name is Bailey! She is about 2 years old! Good morning everyone! Due to the storm coming in the spay clinic is going to be rescheduled for Friday September 13 instead of September 12!

Good morning everyone! These puppies are still at the shelter! We really need to find them homes! We are shut down right now for maintenance on our shelter! The only place we have to house these puppies in a little 10X10 kennel that we actually need to put our other dogs in temporarily to acid wash the shelter floor to be able to put the epoxy down! Once we get this done and get our kennels built we will be able to open back up full swing! Having these puppies is putting a stop to the progress of being able to get done what needs to be done to reopen! So please if you are looking for a new family member come check them out! The adoption fee is free! We also have 2 older dogs that are needing homes!

UPDATE! Let’s all give a great big shoutout to Mrs. Sabrina Johnson Stuckey, owner of Jena Nutrition for donating the most perfect sink to our shelter! Thank you so much, Sabrina! You are truly a blessing!

Good morning everyone! In the past week our little shelter has gotten a facelift! We have had the roof cool sealed and spray insulation on the inside! We are putting epoxy on the floor and going to replace one side of the kennels and replace the other side next year!
We are in need of a stainless steel sink! We have priced them and found one, but the shipping is almost as much as the sink! There was another one, but the reviews on it was terrible, so we’re reaching out to our community to see if there’s anyone who has one they would like to donate or sell to the shelter for cheap! I’m going to post a picture of what we’re looking for! Thanks to each one of you for always supporting us!
