Missing for FIVE YEARS - The power of a microchip!

In October of 2015, Tallulah was adopted from Great Plains SPCA. To our surprise, on July 18th of 2024, she was brought to our shelter once again via animal control as a stray. A quick scan of the microchip provided a phone number to call. The owners were shocked to hear that she'd ended up in our shelter... because Tallulah had been missing for more than five years!

We're not sure where Tallulah has been all these years, but this story demonstrates the importance of a microchip. Even after years of being apart, the owner's contact information was still valid, making this happy reunion possible.

A good Samaritan brought in a neutered orange cat that had passed away. The pet was found in the Symphony Hills area between Blackbob Rd. and 143rd and 151st, in Olathe, Ks. He was not wearing a collar and there was no microchip. There are distinguishing black marks on bottom lip. He will be here at Blackbob Pet Hospital until Friday. Happy adoption day to Jimmy! He was adopted from Great Plains SPCA in 2021. He was heartworm positive at the time of his adoption, and they did such an excellent job helping him to become healthy again! He is happy and thriving thanks to his wonderful adoption team! The best breed is a RESCUE 😍🐶
