Hi everyone. Just a heads up that the office will be closed the week of Labor Day, and will reopen again September 11th at 8 am. Dr. Vicki will be out of town visiting with her Dad and family, and hopefully getting one visit into Buddy's Pizza in Novi, MI. We look forward to seeing all of you again once we get back. We thank you again for your business and for having the chance to be a part of your extended families. - Dr. Vicki , Lea, and Katlynn.

We are almost to July again - where has the year gone! Dr. Vicki is off to visit her Dad again from July 1st through July 15th, so the office will be closed during that time and will reopen on July 17th. Be sure to stop by next week if you will need any food or medications while we are gone. Emergencies will be referred to Oakwood Hills Animal Hospital during the day (715-835-0112) and in the evenings to Allied Emergency Vet Service (715-529-5900). We appreciate your understanding as we spend time with our families.

Meet Bruno, Cinnamon, Freddy, Freda, Lassie, Panda, Patch, Polar, and Shep Smucker. They were in for their 6 week exams and they were a very good looking batch of puppies. Heeler/ Border Collie cross puppies. Very sweet and both parents smart working dogs.

Dr. Vicki is off to Detroit again this year to visit with her Dad (who turns 91 this year) and family, so the office will be closed from the end of the day at 4:30 pm on July 1st through 8 am on July 18th, 2022. A reminder that if medications are needed or food is needed please get your orders in prior to 6/24/22, as last day for Dr. Vicki to special order will medications will be 6/27/22 (and this is done at 8 am) . Food will need to be ordered prior to 6/22/22 to have any hope of getting here while we are still open. Please call us with any questions or concerns and we will be happy to help you. We appreciate your understanding while Dr. Vicki, Lea, and Katlynn have some time off to go on vacations, visit with family, and just take a break from the daily routine. The picture shows Dr. Vicki's Dad enjoying the neat Corvette we rented for a day on his birthday last year.

Creative thinking saved this dog! Awesome.

Police, firefighters and a coast guard team failed to rescue a Jack Russell terrier mix from a Hampshire, England, mudflat with the tide rising around it. So they attached a sausage to a drone and lured the meat-loving dog to higher ground.

Hi everyone. With summer here and vacations in cautious mode , this is a reminder that we will be closed for our usual 2 weeks in early July (from June 27th through July 12th) to allow Dr. Vicki and her staff some time off.
For those of you that need medications or prescription foods, just a reminder to get those picked up this coming week . If you have anything that needs to be ordered than be sure to call by Monday June 22 to be sure it will be here by the end of the week.
Thanks for your understanding - we know that our being closed will be a great inconvenience to many of you, but we wish to give our staff the break they need and deserve.

To our Valued Customers,

The health and well-being of your pet is our top priority. As news of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in our community continues to develop, we are monitoring the situation closely.

At this time, we are open but are operating under modified business hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 8:00-2:00 pm

While the CDC and other health authorities have indicated that dogs, cats, and other domestic animals are not considered at risk for contracting COVID-19, we are taking extra precautions to ensure the health and safety of humans within our facilities— notably our clients and staff. Keeping our practice "hospital-clean" has always been a priority for us, and we continue to do so. Additionally, for the safety of our team and your family we are monitoring CDC recommendations and will continue to increase our attention to cleaning frequency and methods accordingly.

For clients needing medication or food, please phone ahead so we can have your order ready, and we will bring it out to you when you arrive. We can give you the price when you phone, and either take credit card information at that time, or you can pay with check or cash when you are here . If you need change we will take payment at your vehicle and then return with the needed change. Please stay in your car the whole time.

Although we are continuing to have pets in the office, we are having clients stay in their cars during the exams, and we will be on the phone with you during the exam (either by Facetime or over the phone). During the exam we will have you phone Dr. Vicki at 715-403-1348 and you can participate in the exam remotely. THE OFFICE DOOR WILL BE LOCKED, so please call us at 532-5539 when you arrive if we haven't come out to meet you within a few minutes. Please park by the big window by Judy's desk so we can see you when you arrive. If you are showing any signs of illness for any reason , then please either reschedule your pet, or have someone else that is healthy bring the pet in for their visit. Please stay in your car at all times.

When done, we will let you know the cost, and you can pay by either credit card over the phone, or check or cash when we bring the pet back to you out in your car. We will only be allowing staff in the hospital itself (both to keep the products clean that we dispense, and to protect our health). Dr. Vicki and staff are monitoring themselves closely and no one will be at the office that isn't feeling healthy.

Emergency service will consist of advice over the phone for our clinic (Dr. Vicki can be reached at 715-403-1348) as there is no way Dr. Vicki can both restrain and treat a pet without some assistance. Otherwise we normally refer patients to Oakwood Hills Animal Hospital in Eau Claire, WI at 715-835-0112. Blue Pearl Vet Clinics in Minnesota offer 24 hour service, but I am not sure of their current situation as far as admitting new patients.

For more information and health guidance regarding COVID-19, please visit the CDC or WHO websites. For additional questions, please contact us at 715-532-5539.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. We look forward working with you and your pets during the time of the "new normal" and hope you and your pets stay in good health and stay safe during these scary times.

$50.00 COUPONS FOR SPAYS and NEUTERS
I just wanted to let our clients know that , for the month of February ONLY, the Rusk County Animal Shelter is providing coupons for $25.00 off the spay or neuter of any cat or dog for residents of Rusk County. Our clinic, Ladyvet Animal Hospital, will be matching the RCAS coupon with an additional $25.00 off, so for the month of February our clients will have access to $50.00 off on getting their pet spayed or neutered.

We do our most of our surgeries on Tuesday and Thursday, but can sometimes fit a few in on Mondays if our schedule gets full. We would love to have you take advantage of this "once a year" offer to give your pet the opportunity to live a safer and longer life, and to be a better companion to their human family. Give us a call to reserve your spot for surgery.
With many thanks for the support , care, and thoughtfulness that you, our clients, give our clinic. It makes our challenging jobs very rewarding and we look forward to being able to serve you in 2020.

We are so happy to hear that Buddy is doing well. It is nice to be able to see his lovely eyes. Buddy had some eyelashes rubbing on his eyes, so we did surgery to correct this and he seems to be doing great.

We were SO excited to see Keebler yesterday - she is recovering from a back injury (she could not even walk) and due to the great care she has received at home she is 80% recovered in the last 2 weeks. Now onto the physical therapy to get her back to 100%. She should do great- her owners carefully keep her weight just right, and they will be watching her closely to be sure she doesn't overdo it. She has taken quite a liking to her recovery laundry basket (which has kept her confined in one place) and she has been a very good patient. Go KEEBLER!!

We carefully put a beautiful splint on Sophie's broken foot last week, and she promptly went home and ate it! Human doctors do not have to deal with the good chewers that veterinarians have to work around. Sophie is going to be getting a tougher splint soon that hopefully will not taste as good. She is a wonderful patient otherwise, and we love working with Sophie and her family.

Winston Bishop sure looks brave hiding behind his big protector, Capone . Winston recently had his first visit here and he was so cute we didn’t want him to leave. He has lots of personality for such a little guy. Capone looks resigned but she really does like the new addition to the family.

"Leo Riding in Style" Leo recently came in for his yearly visit, and his owner was surprised when he looked in the back seat and found Leo trying to be safe and riding in the empty car seat located there. He insisted on riding in the seat both coming to the clinic and going home! Not sure if the seat was in his weight range, but he sure looks like he was enjoying the ride!!!

Hi Everyone. Dr Vicki here. I had a great visit with my Dad in early July, and I am going to take advantage of the Labor Day holiday to visit him again the first week in September. He lives in Novi, MI. So the office will be closed the week of Labor Day, but open as normal Monday morning, September 9th. Thanks very much for your understanding.
