Koko is seriously the best foster I have ever had (don't tell the other 117 fosters I have had)! She is super sweet and such an easy keeper. She is about 10 years old and her favorite things are naps, dog beds and treats! She gets along with dogs, cats and I bet kids. She is always happy and enjoys sniffing outside but always comes when called. She gets around great! She is crate trained and potty trained, too!

We are looking for an outgoing and energetic individual that loves animals! We meet once a month (usually the 4th Thursday of the month at 6pm in Howe) but are looking for members that can help in these areas:
1. Volunteering at the shelter
2. Researching and writing grants.
3. Researching upgrades for the shelter. For example, our outside back kennels need repaired.
4. To update our amazing board of available animals at Paws and Claws Bookstore regularly.
5. Gather donations for fundraisers.
6. Foster animals or promote fostering in the community.
7. Reach out to local media for advertising options.
8. Research training opportunities for staff.
9. Attend Fundraiser/Events.

Cleaning hours vary but are usually 8-2 during the week and 8-12 on weekends. Office hours are 10-4 (Wednesday 10-6) and Saturday 12-4.
Applicants must be comfortable with all sizes and breeds of dogs and cats. The job can be stressful at times, so an individual who can handle stressful situations well is required.
This employee must be willing to learn. This jobs will require cleaning up after animals so please keep in mind it can be a dirty job. Attention to detail is a must. We work outside even when it is cold so please take that into consideration.
Learning all about the animals' personalities is a bonus for this job. You will become attached and will have a favorite in no time!

He was the calmest hound we've taken out thus far. He's a great car rider and loves to lay across your lap during the ride. He walked very well on the leash and didn't drag us like others have. He loved his chicken nuggets and fries from McDonald's. He squats when he goes potty, which is so cute being a boy. He didn't try to mark every spot that we walked by, either. I can see him stretched out with his human every night in bed. He's such a cuddler and lover. He is going to be the best companion for his human. Someone give this boy his furever home. ❤️

Ok, so here is the catch... Brute came to us with a broken leg that is an old injury. We took him to a couple vets for consultations and since he uses his leg so much his medical plan is pain management and joint supplements while it heals. Due to this we know that finding him an adopter will be harder. Can you share to help Brute out??

Azul has been in a foster home for two weeks and is doing well. He has a much different personality than when he was in the shelter.
Pros:
1. Crate Trained. He will go in there on his own to rest
2. Appears to be dog friendly (isn’t interested in playing with his foster siblings, so if your dog really wants to play I’m not sure they would get along).
3. Cat friendly. Ignores the two cats in his foster home.
4. Potty trained
5. Likes to be in the fenced in yard
6. Gets excited when being pet
7. Treat/food motivated
8. Knows when he’s in ‘trouble’
9. He hasn’t jumped on people (I know that was one of his issues at the shelter)
Cons:
1. Can pull on walks (when we walk he sometimes pulls, but sometimes walks with a loose leash). I think he could work on this with someone.
2. Will have a big bark. He has barked at noises in the fence, and at the neighbor through the window.
3. Has put his paws on the counter a few times to explore.
4. Eats rapidly, but a slow feed bowl has been helpful.
Allen- Are you looking for a cat that just loves attention? Look no further! This boy loves everyone!! He absolutely loves attention and will sit in your lap and just enjoy life. He is 2-3 years old and has been with us 6 months. He is FIV positive but he still has a long life ahead of him. Please consider this special needs fur kid for your family.
