Had a fun morning meeting the very vocal and hissy Persian named Lacey. You should have heard the noises she made when I combed the mats out of her legs! I had to remind her that she is a Persian and needs to get used to me and quickly. Her last groomer had to stop mid-groom because she was being so bad. 1st pic is before.

I am never able to get a good picture of these pups and boy are they a handful! Uno, the Shepard is the sweetest, doesn’t stop kissing to let me groom. Lily the spaniel is the scaredy-cat who stays matted. And there’s Gloria, the Pyrenees mix... she weighs as much as I do and could be brushed and blown out for hours and would still have more coat to blow! What’s even better is their sweet 84 mama who loves them more than life 💕

When your cat develops a few mats but you get busy with life, work, and kids. You try to brush it, cut it with scissors but they won’t even pe*****te the now pelt. I have had many people call and say they were embarrassed and ashamed to call because their cat was so bad off. Dexter was quarantined to the laundry room for over a year because off the smell and goodies that would get hung up in his matted tail. This was not a happy boy while I was shaving him but once I released what was a literal turtle shell on his back, he was a new man. Purring, happy, and clean. He now gets to run the house and cuddle with his family again. A nice groom can save a cats health, physically and mentally. I didn’t have my phone to get before photos.

Groomed a sweet little cat named Bright Eyes. She had just had abdominal surgery and was quite the "over groomer/licker" and was pulling all her hair out. Problem solved with a lion cut, it was her first time being groomed and she did wonderful. kitties can handle grooming

Comfortis is a great monthly product for cats but if your cat happens to get an infestation, call to schedule an appointment. Cats have very thin and sensitive skin and can easily damage their skin from scratching.

Here is proof that cats do not groom themselves, they lick themselves. A cat's hair and skin can become dirty and oily just like a dog. When temperature changes the undercoat starts to shed, but when the outer coat is oily, the hairs will stick together and create knots. If the hair is not cleaned and brushed out in a timely manner these knots will begin to twist, pulling tightly on the skin, restricting blood flow to the skin.
Too often people take on the care of long haired cats for the love of their beautiful coats, not understanding the importance of regular grooming/bathing, and daily brushing. For the love of cats and the safety of groomers everywhere... please maintain a brushing and grooming regimen with your cat from an early age. These are a few before and after pictures.

Animal Rescue Center of Bay County is in need of some foster parents for some kittens!

We have had many requests recently to take in cats due to deaths, loss of jobs, loss of homes, having to relocate, etc. Some of these just need us to take them for a couple of weeks, some need us to take them until we can find them new fur-ever homes. We do not have a shelter and have to keep these cats in foster homes. We are overflowing right now, and in dire need of additional foster homes. If you can open your home, or even one room in your home to foster one or more of these urgent requests, please, please do. Also, please share this request!!
