Dear Chambers Creek community:

I joined CCVH in June 2008, fresh out of vet school and eager to learn. Over the years, I have developed deep friendships with many of you and your furry family members. It’s been an honor to get to know you and care for your loved ones.

My last day of appointments at Chambers Creek will be June 6. I’m leaving to pursue my dream job and it’s bittersweet to say goodbye after nearly 16 years together.

Thank you for many beautiful memories! I will always cherish my time at Chambers Creek.

-Never leave your pet unattended in a car
-When hot/humid, keep your pet’s time outdoors limited ​
-Keep your pet hydrated​
-Ensure your pet has ventilation and a cool environment​
-Dogs with short noses are at higher risk due to their condensed facial anatomy and restricted ability to cool themselves​
-If any signs of heat stroke appear, contact our team immediately. ​

A**l glands are located on the rear of dogs and cats. The glands produce an oily, fishy-smelling fluid that helps with scent marking. Sometimes these glands can get impacted or infected.

Accumulated from excessive grooming, hairballs can build in your cat’s digestive system and either get coughed up or in some cases, need surgical removal.

Boots was surrendered to us after her elderly owner passed away and family members didn’t want her 😭 She is understandably frightened and unsure about her temporary home in our hospital, but is a gentle sweetie in need of her forever home. Boots is 11 years old and recently diagnosed as diabetic. Though she shows no symptoms, she will need a special diet and insulin injections to manage her diabetes. She has lived with dogs in the past but her experience with children and other cats is unknown. Boots uses her litter box without problems and is good for bathing and nail trims - she is a fuss-free lady! If you’re interested in adopting Boots, please call us at 253-475-7831 and ask to speak with Dr. Hicks or send us an email at [email protected].
