As of last night at 11:05 pm, the 2024 foaling season has officially kicked off at PPR! This 12-hour-old c**t is MMF Jubal’s Ambling Rascal x Dakota Firesteel QVW, owned by Bridget McAslan. This exceptional mare will be bred to SCF Moonlit Merry Boy for a spring 2025 foal!

Rosco is a 5 year old grade Kentucky Mountain horse gelding standing 14.1 hands. He has a terrific disposition on the ground and loves grooming. He clips, loads, ties, fly sprays, easy to catch, great for the farrier. Lives out in a large herd of geldings. Up to date on vaccinations, deworming, coggins, currently wearing 4 shoes and just finished 6 weeks of professional training and will remain in training until sold. He is slightly tricky to saddle fit, but has a setup that works well for his short back that can go with him if desired. Rosco was bought to be a field trial horse, but finds the experience to be overwhelming. He wants to be a good boy but needs a lot of support from his rider to succeed in more exciting environments. Needs an intermediate + rider that can help him become more confident. He’s happily arena riding and trail riding from the barn and has a terrific, fun, fast gait.

Chinese fire drill on horseback today, 18 seconds from across the arena was top speed 💨 💨 💨

What a journey so far. This colt is just now 24hrs old, he waited until 23hrs to nurse 😰 All the things for her and him during this pregnancy: placintitis, upside down with one foot out, dummy foal. It’s been a month of medications, IV fluids, plasma, and more. Watching this colt nurse finally this afternoon was the best part of my day. I’m so grateful for Dr. Wendel who said ‘I’ll just start driving’ and flipped the colt yesterday evening. He’s been with us every step of the way. Lady is a terrific mother and so totally proven her temperament through this pregnancy.
