Our 5th portacool received a new pump and is helping to cool the barns down. On hot humid days like today they will drop the temperature of the air 10 to 15 degrees as it exits the fan. All of them had the filters hosed out to make them more efficient

Event Reminder…

Don’t forget we are setting up a table at the WCTR Horse Show on June 25th. If you are planning on volunteering please let me know. I am asking volunteers to come around 8am. We will announce our raffles at the end of the lunch break (around 1pm) so you will be free to leave after then if you would like. If you have any questions please send me a message.

Also if anyone has any last minute raffle donations please let me know ASAP and I will arrange a pick up or drop off time.

We were discussing the drought last night at a farm meeting and many hay producers stated that their first cut was about 65% of the normal yield. This will affect feed prices if rain is not in our future. Think Rain

Drought continues to worsen across the state of Illinois. Chances for showers and thunderstorms return late this weekend into early next week. However, temperatures remain seasonable for the weekend.

Rain is definitely needed to increase hay production in our area. Many farmers I talked with report about 70% of their normal first cut in hay production. This field was an exceptional 2nd year field and grew about 4’ tall and was an exceptional yield
