A large room in the kennel serves as an indoor exercise area in case of inclement weather. As usual, it’s been a busy summer! People having been getting married, traveling overseas and closer to home, and just enjoying all the things! Most of the time it’s happy, but sometimes sad…..a couple of our regulars passed away this summer and one of our long-time bus kids aged out of daycare. 😢 It happens. We’re just grateful for every day. ❤️

The Bus. 😂What started out as a convenience for customers has evolved into a distinct branch of our business. We’re on our third “bus”, and this one is a monster, but the best transporter ever! The bus is full every day Monday-Friday. Maybe someday we’ll find a real school bus!😂

Lotto doggos filling the yard-o! Red Rover is pretty booked up until July 15. You can always call or go online to see if we have space for your friend.

This week we filled the big tank, much to the delight of Rowena, Trex, and Greta! We also bid adieu to Malachi as he is moving with his family. Malachi has been a Mon-Fri bus kid for the past year. We’ll miss his funny face and mischief! ❤️

Short soapbox, sorry. Please spay and neuter your pet! 😊 If you choose not to, carefully consider the hassles and expense associated with owning an intact dog or cat: behavior issues, mess, roaming, vet bills, and what you’ll do with the puppies/kittens.

Red Rover generally does not accept intact male dogs over 1 year old. Exceptions are made for law enforcement and professionally trained service dogs.

Intact females over 1 year can be boarded on a case by case basis. No in heat or pregnant females allowed!

We don’t usually do memorial posts until the end of the year, but this one really hurt, and we need to share. Gus passed away suddenly on Saturday, he had cancer and no one knew. Gus was 11 and had been a Tuesday/ Thursday bus kid for the last couple years. Gus loved food, laying in the sun, going for rides, and laying up front at Red Rover. You could not go through the McDonalds line with Gus in the Bus!😂 We loved him a lot, and our condolences to Kelli❤️Thank you for sharing Gus with us. 🙏

One of the absolute worst things about this job is having to tell people their dogs have outgrown daycare. Because puppies eventually age out of doggy daycare! (Most of them. Not all😉). Today was Hazel and Betty’s last day, and that fact made my cry all week. These girls, both Covid puppies, started riding the bus together around the same time. They were about 6 months old. They are from separate households, but are remarkably bonded to each other. We will miss them at daycare, but look forward to boarding them whenever needed. We love you big girls and your people. Thank you❤️❤️

Well, the Easter Bunny made his annual appearance! His slightly monstrous mug against foreboding black clouds made for a vaguely terrifying tableau! As usual, the dogs didn’t care as long as there were treats! Happy Easter!🐣🐣

It’s kind of strange, I’ve had 3 instances in the past 7 days having to do with unwanted pets. 1. A happenstance convo with someone who works with a group finding homes for abandoned pets 2. A very sad conversation with a neighbor who found herself trying to save unwanted puppies’ lives, and 3. Driving in early morning wet snow, finding and rescuing a kitten presumably dumped on the county road. 😢

What can you do? 🥺 Spay and neuter, give financial support to community organizations Saving Animals From Euthanasia - Lewistown MT, Tails as Old as Time - TOT, be a foster, please don’t dump your pets when you’re in a jam. Reach out for help. Red Rover can’t always house homeless pets, but we are working on ways to help people connect with each other when pets need homes. Please pm us, or call 538-3142 if you are able to foster or if you can help in other ways. 🙏

Thursday Morning

Hey all, just an fyi, we really don’t have any boarding space available until the last weekend of July. It never hurts to call and check as we do get cancellations. Also, we are looking for a good worker to join our Dog Rodeo as we move into fall…..call 538-3142 for info on that. Remember our hours are 8-11 and 2-6 7 days a week except holidays. Booster that Bordetella! Enjoy the rain! Yay rain!
