The New Year is just a few days away! Here are our top pet safety tips so you can welcome in 2024 as safely as pawsible:

-Keep all pets indoors
-Make sure pets have an ID and are chipped
-Keep human food and alcohol away from your pet, and relay to any guests of this as well
-Keep your pet in a cozy area with music or a TV on. These sounds help to drown out any party noises and/or fireworks.

With New Year's Eve festivities upon us, we thought we'd share some safety tips for your pets. These are just a few. Also keep in mind that not all of the food we eat is safe for pets. If your pets ingest anything they are not supposed to, please contact an emergency clinic right away. We will be closed on Monday and you don't want to wait too long if it's harmful, or potentially fatal.

On Wednesday, November 29th, we held our 4th Pet Pictures with Santa event to benefit the Purple Leash Project (we are still tallying up our donation totals, so stay tuned). We want to thank Michelle with Abundant Bliss Photography and Laura with Lasting Memories Photography by Laura Beth for donating their time, equipment and skills to take these awesome pictures! We also want to thank Dr. Phil Hyde and Gary Burnham for donating their time as our Santas this year! Thank you to all of the staff members who also volunteered their time to hang out and help! We had a blast seeing all of the pets who came for their pictures! All pictures have been e-mailed, so please let us know if you did not receive them. Check your spam folder before letting us know, though. They could have ended up there. Enjoy this year's pictures!!

We have only raised about 1/3 of our $1,500 goal for The Purple Leash Project. We are going to keep our specific QR code open for donations until the end of the business day on Friday (6:00 PM on December 8th). ALSO, we have 2 awesome gift baskets filled with swag from PLP that we are raffling off in hospital. It's cash only for tickets, so stop by before the end of the day on Friday if you'd like to try to win. The baskets include a Yeti mug, t-shirt, sunglasses, leash, and a couple of smaller items (pen, sticker, bracelet). Tickets are 1 for $2 or 3 for $5. Any of our lovely Client Care Reps can help you with purchasing tickets.

We are experiencing some intermittent phone issues today. Our phone company is aware and they are working on it. If you are unable to get through to us, the options to leave voicemails for prescriptions and non-urgent requests should still be available. At this time, we are unable to say exactly what the issues are, but we've had clients tell us they have tried to get through, but they weren't able to speak with someone. We've also tried to place clients on hold, and they have been hung up on. You can continue to call us, as we are still receiving calls, but we just ask for your patience if something abnormal happens.
Alternately, if you don't want to call for med requests, you can request meds to be picked up here in hospital by requesting them on our website (https://www.crossroadsanimal-hospital.com/rx-refill.pml).

Arthritis is extremely common in pets, especially as they age. Signs of arthritis in pets include (but are not limited to):

-Stiff or swollen joints
-Difficulty standing from a lying position
-Difficulty going upstairs or jumping
-Reduced muscle volume in the rear limbs

If your pet is showing signs of arthritis, please contact us. We have many treatment options available to help keep your pet thriving, comfortable, and happy!

There's only 1 more sleep until Pet Pictures with Santa! 🎅 We are very excited and we want to see all of your pets in their holiday gear (if they'll tolerate it, haha). With that said, we need to keep the safety of everyone in mind. Therefore, rabies vaccines need to be current. If your pet is a patient here, we can check their status. If your pet is not a patient here, please bring proof.
Also, because of the canine upper respiratory issues going around, we ask that you DO NOT bring your pet if they are showing ANY signs or symptoms of being sick. We also need to make sure dogs are not interacting with each other while they are here waiting to see Santa. We will be directing traffic inside, but the line may end up outside on the sidewalk in order to keep dogs separated. Alternately, you can leave your dog in the car until it's your turn to see Santa. Just let us know when you arrive. This option might work best if you are bringing more than one pet.

Trivia Tuesday winner for December

Pinky came in today for (hopefully) her final splint change. She will be back next week for a follow up, but we're hopeful that this will be the last of the splints. But that means, it could also be the last vet wrap art. She was given a pilgrim hat today in honor of Thanksgiving next week! Everyone keep your fingers crossed for Pinky because she is ready to be all done with these visits 😂.

We just wanted to let you know that we will be closed on Wednesday, November 15th from 12-1 PM for staff training. We usually close for an hour on Tuesday or Thursday morning, so we wanted to give you a heads up because it's a different day. Thank you!

Hey everyone, we wanted to let you know that we will be opening at 9:30 AM on Monday, September 11, 2023. The town is turning the main water off in our area for maintenance, so we can't be open without water. If you have an appointment scheduled after 9:30, then you are all set! We have already spoken to everyone who is scheduled before that time. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

We want to send a HUGE congratulations to our technician, Natalie! She passed her VTNE on Friday and is now a Certified Vet Tech. That exam is difficult and she passed on her first try! We are so proud of you Natalie!!!! Leave your well wishes for her in the comments!

📣Attention! Beginning Monday, August 7, 2023, we will begin answering our phones at 8:00 AM instead of 8:30 AM. We had switched to 8:30 because we were doing our surgery admits and trying to get those patients admitted while answering an influx of phone calls became challenging. However, we have made some adjustments so we will begin taking calls for sick appointments at 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday.

Meet Milo! This adorable baby was here to see us last week for his first visit and we all fell in love! And he's just so FLUFFY!!! Welcome to the Crossroads Family, Milo!

Even though you probably already know this, we wanted to give you the heads up that we will be closed next Monday in observance of Independence Day.
