It really does take a village! Dressage arenas are up & ready for a ride a test on Saturday with Dolly Hannon & Sunday open schooling! Now let's hope mother nature cooperates 🤪. Nighthawk Equestrian is soo excited for Spring that we wanted to offer a fun new opportunity to our horse community!

What: OPEN SCHOOLING in our gorgeous outdoor arenas
When: Sunday April 14th & Sunday May 12th (weather permitting)
Time: 9am-1pm
Cost: $50/Horse.

This is open to anyone who needs to get their 4 legged friend out for a structured outing before show season kicks off or just needs a change of scenery!

We have some exciting news! 🎉🎉 Nighthawk is now owned solely by Karen & Kim! This has been our plan from the beginning, and we are happy to say it is now complete! 🎉🎉 A huge thank you to Eleanor Harrison & Gedeon LaFarge for joining us in this crazy adventure almost 5 years ago. We look forward to seeing you at the shows this summer! 🤗🤗. Thank you for your support!

What a great time we had at championships this weekend! It was great to be back at the Colorado horse park again!
Kati & DC placed 5th in PSG championship class. And as always, just had a lot of fun!

Christine & Diego placed 5th in 2nd level AA championship class & 1st in 2nd level pony championship class ! And got some 1st place ribbons in their open classes as well. They looked super cute & had so much fun!

Simone & Nico were reserve champion in their 3rd level class! And a 7 th place finish in their 3rd level freestyle class!

Jessica & Fendi did great at their first championship show. 8 th place in a big AA 1st level championship class!

Claudia & BB placed very well in all of their open classes!

And Olivia Williams baby Finn was the champion yearling & 2 yr old class in the breed show!

Big thank you to all who helped put on this show. Heather Petersen & her team did such a great job! And thanks for ordering beautiful weather. 😁😁

All of us at Nighthawk Equestrian Center want to congratulate our boarder Olivia Williams and her horse, Ronaldo, for their 8th place finish in the Young Rider Division at Lamplight this year. Beautiful riding and wonderful sportsmanship are the hallmark of this pair and we are so happy to have them home!

Nighthawk show season 2023 is a wrap! Mother nature was actually nice to us this time! Thank you, thank you, thank you to our wonderful volunteer coordinators ( Sarah Barnes, Michelle Slaughter and Sonny Zinn) & all of the many wonderful volunteers! Thank you to Two White Feet and the show management team!

The 11th Nighthawk show is a wrap! Despite mother natures best efforts, the show was able to go on! We started the weekend with soggy & gloomy weather, but ended with sunshine & beautiful skies. What a difference 24 hours makes.
We had two wonderful food trucks. Danny's tacos was here on Saturday, and Vesta's ( from Martini's Bistro) was here on Sunday. Thanks to everyone who helped the food trucks sell out!
Our horsie, tack vendors were Happy Horse Tack Shop & The Perfect Fit. There was lots of fun shopping!
As always, huge thanks to our intrepid volunteers , our volunteer coordinator Sarah Barnes, and Heather Petersen & the crew from Two White Feet!! We couldn't do this without you!
Hope to see you all in July!

Are you ready for the show????? When you aren't showing this weekend, enjoy Danny's Tacos on Saturday. They were a big hit at the last show. And on Sunday we have a newcomer to the Nighthawk show culinary scene, Vestas Mobile Heart and Kitchen! This food truck comes from Longmont's fabulous restaurant, Martini's Bistro. Sarah, the owner, is a rider and horsewoman so please welcome her and try her food.

Our first show is a wrap! A day late for this post, but the show hangover is real!! 😳. Thanks so much to Sloane Rosenthal & Windswept Farms for bailing us out in a pinch when our outdoor sprinkler system decided to spring a leak a few days before the show!! 🤪🤪 It was a great weekend, we saw some super riding & lots of smiling faces! Despite a few short rain delays, we hit the weather jackpot! ( Remember Sunday of this show last year??)
Danny's tacos was a hit, and they will be back for the first day of our June show!
Thanks to Sarah Barnes, Sonny Zinn, and Michelle Slaughter for coordinating all of the volunteers! And thank you to our wonderful volunteers, and staff of course! And as always, thank you to Heather Petersen & Two White Feet. It really does take a village. See you in 3 weeks!

It was the night before Christmas,
And the horses were done,
Waiting in fields and in stables,
For Santa to come.

Their owners at home,
Adding up all the bills,
This year’s expenses,
Gave them the chills.

Prices were rising,
Hay, feed and shavings,
It was time for some changes,
To start doing some saving.

No fancy new rugs,
No new magic boots,
Entry fees too expensive,
Even just for grassroots.

But the things that you need,
It was easy to see,
To make a horse happy,
Are actually free.

Time with their friends,
To run and to play,
Nothing beats a good groom,
At the end of the day.

A peaceful long hack,
A mouthful of hay,
Leaves horses content,
With not much to pay.

Enjoy all the small things,
Because fun knows no bounds,
When you stop seeing value,
In only notes and in pounds.

So next year remember,
When the bills seem too much,
Horses don’t need extravagance,
To know that they’re loved.

Saddle up and explore,
Enjoy a good view,
Knowing all your horse needs,
Is the basics and you.

Nighthawk Equestrian Center is so excited to welcome Betsy Steiner for a 2 day clinic on Nov 12th and 13th. Betsy’s career spans 40 years of training and showing horses at all levels and being a high performance rider. One of the highlights of Betsy’s illustrious career was when she represented the United States at the World Equestrian Games in Stockholm, Sweden in 1990 aboard her own exuberant Dutch Warmblood, Unanimous. Rider spots are filled but we welcome auditors $30/day or $50 for both days. Come join us to watch and learn!

We are so excited to welcome Bill McMullin to Nighthawk this weekend for a clinic. Bill is a USEF 'R' Dressage Judge, a USDF Gold Medalist, and a USDF Certified Instructor and Faculty member. If you have ever ridden with him, you know what an incredible teacher and person he is. The clinic is full but we do have auditing spots open. Auditing is $30/day or $55 for both days starting at 8:30 am. No sign up needed. Just come on over.
