We had ONE shot to get this video right! And TOMORROW is your shot to help CLEAR THE SHELTER!! ✨️
Clear The Shelter 2024 is happening TOMORROW, AUGUST 24TH from 12-5pm at Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center! Our goal is to end the day with every kennel empty and every tail wagging as we unite Fur-ever families!
Every animal adopted through our facility will leave spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all age-appropriate vaccines. We'll be WAIVING ADOPTION FEES for all approved applications for SATURDAY ONLY, so jump on this opportunity and help CLEAR THE SHELTER!
LACAC is located at 303 HG Mosley Pkwy, Longview, TX 75604 and is open Tuesday- Saturday from 12-5pm. To see available animals for adoption, check out our networking page, Friends of Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center- LACAC. (Some exceptions may apply for waived fees)
Microchipping Your Pets!
August 15th is CHECK THE CHIP Day! Our Lead Vet Tech, Anna, is here to help share the importance of microchips, all while demonstrating just how easy getting your pet chipped can be!
If you are interested in having your animal microchipped, we encourage you to bring them by LACAC during our hours of operation, and we can help! We're located at 303 HG Mosley Pkwy., Longview, TX 75604.
Our LACAC residents and the nicknames given by staff. What ✨nicknames✨ would you give them? 😄

Fourth of July
Preparation for the Fourth of July with pets starts long before the fireworks begin...
While this can be a joyous day of celebration for us, it can be a nightmare for our furry friends. Help make sure your animals are safe and secure during this holiday.
- Bring animals inside. Outside is the scariest place to be during the explosions and loud noises.
- Double check any points of entry in your home. Make sure doors are locked and shut tightly. If people are coming in and out of one area of the home, please keep animals away from that sight.
- Exercise and enjoy the outside time before 5pm. Take them on a tiring walk or run them in the backyard before all the excement picks up.
- Play loud music or watch an action movie to help drown out all the noise from outside. Help make sure your pets are comfortable in their environment.
- Ensure all pets have proper collars and ID tags on them. If an animal does escape, this is the best way to make sure they make their way back home.
-Use local neighbor apps like Nextdoor or Facebook to reunite a found animal. Most lost animals are found within blocks of their homes after July 4th.
July 5th is the busiest days for animal shelters. Help do your part and make the Fourth of July safe for everyone, whether two or four-legged!

We're zooming through this week like... 🏃♂️💨
Meet MOLLY! Molly is a 2-year-old American Pit Bull-x who is looking for a place to call home. While she gets the occasional zoomies, Molly is actually a chill girl; you can usually find her snuggled up on a bed in her kennel. She is currently our 2nd longest resident at 49 DAYS! Molly is very much a "staff favorite" and we're wondering how she hasn't ZOOMED out of here yet.
Molly is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on her vaccines, and ready to be ADOPTED! Come down to see us at 303 H.G. Mosley Pkwy., Longview, TX 75604. Hours of operation is Tuesday- Saturday, 12-5p.m.

We had a great time hanging out with Longview Parks and Recreation at Dog Days of Summer this morning. It was fun in the sun and there is nothing else we would had rather have been doing. We got our paws wet and now we are adopting some animals here at the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center. Come see us! #dogdaysofsummer
How cool is this? Our medical team leader, Dr. Christine Prior, was nominated for best community veterinarian in the Longview News Journal Best of East Texas contest. Not only was she nominated she is in the TOP THREE! We are so excited to see all her hard work at the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center recognized. Since we opened in 2016 she has provided medical care for over 20,000 animals that have come through our shelter.
The veterinary clinic we have in our shelter is one of the things that make us unique here in East Texas. In fact, it is what allows us to have events like our FREE VACCINE and MICROCHIP clinic for Gregg County residents that we are hosting at our shelter NEXT SATURDAY May the 20th.
Please take a second and go vote for Dr. Christine Prior in the Local Personalities/Veterinarian category. Vote everyday until May 19th!! Let’s show her how much we LOVE her. ❤️ Dr. P, we love you.

As many of you know we lost a valued member of our LACAC family this past weekend in a tragic accident. Our sweet, funny, vibrant Nina Lea Allen was one of a kind. Her heart, her smile, and her spirit will forever be ingrained in all that we do at the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center and in our entire Longview community. We know that so many of you are grieving with us and trying to understand and process the same way we are. We're in this together and we feel your healing arms. So many kind gestures, words of encouragement, and just an incredible outpouring of love are coming in from our LACAC supporters. Thank you. Thank you so very much.
We also know that many of you are looking to us to give guidance in how to help, how to give in Nina's honor. We are working as a shelter family and with her Mom, Heather, to come up with immediate and long-term ways to honor Nina's memory and continue her life's work to speak for those animals who need us. Please be patient as we navigate through all our thoughts, ideas, emotions and construct a plan that would make her proud. Our shelter animals meant the world to her, finding homes for the unwanted gave her purpose. We will make sure her purpose and passion live on in all of us.
For right now, without question, without a doubt, we can tell you nothing would honor Nina more than adopting a shelter animal. If you have room in your home and heart, come down and let us find the right fit for your family. For the entire month of November, we will be applying all of our adoption fees to creating the Nina Allen Memorial Fund. Longview PAWS, the 501c3 non-profit dedicated to supporting the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center, will be creating a Memorial Fund in Nina's name. For monetary donations made in honor of Nina, please visit https://www.longviewpaws.org/ways-to-donate.html.
Nina, we love you. We miss you. Our entire community is heartbroken but we will keep fighting your fight because we know that's what you'd
There is absolutly NOTHING Nina wouldn't do when it came to helping us adopt animals. All you had to do was turn on a camera and she did the rest. This is how she helped us adopt over 6,000 animals in 4 years. Hot dog she was an amazing person.
