I'm already starting to see people posting images of "tame" songbirds that are sitting on the ground, eyes partly closed - these are often window strike victims who've hit glass on their first migration south to their wintering grounds. Luckily, there are attractive solutions! I'm personally partial to Feather Friendly tape - it puts small dots on your window, so you can still see out and enjoy the beautiful view. But there are many other solutions, from string to tape and more.

It’s thats time of year. Don't be a fawnnapper! It's very common for moms to leave babies for the day while they forage. It's their hope that if they leave it near humans that it will help keep predators away. Doe will often hide fawns near your home or even right outside your home. This does not mean the baby is orphaned. Please contact a licensed Rehabilitator before moving a fawn. Unless they are crying, running around looking for the mom or showing signs of dehydration( curled ears) or hunger, they should be left alone.❤️

7 year old Marco needs to be adopted because his owner died. Marco's family has been doing their best to care for him, but his main caregiver has health issues and reached out to DDR to ask for help in rehoming him. Marco has always been an indoor dog, who is in good health, is neutered, has basic training, and used to love to go walks with his person. The family's main concern is Marco going to the "wrong person" who would use him as a guard dog / keep him outside. His family is not part of the animal rescue community and would prefer to find him an appropriate home, not to take him to the South LA Shelter.

We suffered a devastating fire at Foster Parrots sanctuary this morning. A third of the building is in ruins. I’m sorry to report that we lost 80 to 100 beloved birds and animals. Staff and volunteers are numb with grief and shock. More later.
