Welcome all to Training Tuesday!
This Tuesday we are talking about confidence building. A dog is not born with 100% confidence. Instead they look to their pack to help guide them.
My dog, Darcy, was trained from 10 Weeks Old to go on different surfaces, textures, and objects. How does he do this with little to no hesitation?
That's easy!
He TRUSTS me to guide him and KEEP him safe.
The only question is does your dog trust you enough to start confidence building?

When training a dog, you can dream big. Honestly- the bigger, the better. BUT never forget that you have to build a foundation first. Step one is making sure the sit is perfected. From using play time to train-to- making sure there stay is impeccable. It all stems from the sit command.

Walking your pup can be difficult, especially if you don't have the right tools. When it comes to walking your dog, the dog should NEVER be leading. A dog that is in front has more of a chance to feel threatened during walks, veer off course, and you as the handler will have a more difficult time controlling the outcome.

Why did I choose "Darcy's Pack and Pride" for my business name? Well it is based off of this poodle! My business starts with my poodle, Mr. Darcy, rightfully named after the classic book "Pride and Prejudice."
My poodle was a COVID puppy and training created an unbreakable bond that helped lead into his future as a service dog. What else would you like to know about me?

My (now) service dog, started training at ten weeks old. It was for a different job then, as I wanted him to be a therapy dog. But there was one thing that never did change, my mentality on how to train him.
1. You do it daily
2. You expect GREATNESS
With these two in mind, my dog is now trained for more than fifteen tasks and tricks. To this day he continues to grow and learn, all the while enjoying the process.
