Just a super raw video of Salino and I working on changes and maintain canter rhythm. There is a lot that is no where near perfect in this video but there are good moments as well. Learning how to ride an FEI horse has been such a blessing. Salino has been so patient and forgiving through out this process. I am very fortunate to have him in this point in my journey. I am not afraid to show the imperfections as training on a day to day is never always smooth, but you can show glimpses of progress here and there. I am so grateful for the people in my life who support me on a daily basis as well. Thank you to my Salino for being what I needed at this point ❤️
Regionals 2023 is a wrap! I’ve had some time to reflect and even though we were just out of the ribbons I am still very happy with my horse and myself. We started out the week not so great. Zeke was showing insecurity in the ring which is something we both have been working so hard to over come. So I changed my strategy a bit so I could make this the best experience possible for Zeke and I. Finally by the last couple of days he settled and showed me so much trust and relaxation in our championship ride which at this point is all I could have asked for. He went through the test mistake free until the very end there was a rider error in the transition to trot 🙈 the scores did not reflect the feeling he gave me in the ring and that’s ok. This was my first regionals as an open rider and my second regionals ever. This is not the end of our journey just a piece of it. All in all I am grateful for my horse my friends, my family who came out to support, and my trainer. I have so many people to thank for this weekend but I have to give a shout out to Patricia Becker for really being there for Zeke and I this whole week. All the coaching and the pep talks were just what we needed. So thank you so so much! Now it’s time to start thinking about Florida — the journey continues!
In April Spirit and I rode with FEI 4* judge Natalie lamping! We are getting ready to show PSG again this season. Natalie gave us some really helpful feedback on our walk/canter pirouettes. We also schooled some tempi changes! I can’t wait to get spirit in the show ring!
