🦷By the age of three, most dogs and cats have some degree of dental disease.🦷

Do you know what all goes into your pets dental cleaning?
We start with pre-anesthetic bloodwork where we check red and white blood cell counts making sure they are a good candidate for anesthetic procedures. Our Doctor's will then preform a thorough exam from nose to tail and listen closely to their heart. We will pre-medicate your pet to ensure they are comfortable and then place an iv catheter in their leg to have access for fluids and emergency medication if indicated. While your pet in under anesthesia they will be hooked up to a monitor for their heart rate, blood pressure, temperature and O2. The doctor will do a thorough exam of every tooth and the technicians will take dental radiographs on teeth that the doctor has concerns about prior to extracting. Once the techinican is finished polishing your pets teeth they will wake them up and notify you right away.

Veterinary Technician Spotlight
We are so pleased that Juliet has joined our team! Although the newest member, her previous experience in a clinic setting allowed her to progress quickly. Juliet is attending Columbus State Community College in the Veterinary Technology Program. Even on the job Juliet is in student mode. She is constantly asking questions and learning from those around her. She loves to stay busy and is willing to do whatever is asked of her. Juliet exudes confidence in her abilities and she is well on her way to become an outstanding veterinary technician. While we know her ideal job is to work with farm animals, we do have some pretty large dogs as patients here Juliet! Outside of work, she enjoys hunting, fishing and camping. A fun fact about Juliet is that she doesn’t have a favorite animal!! She loves them all!! Please join us in thanking Juliet for her hard work and commitment to providing the best possible care to each of her patients!

Veterinary Technician Spotlight

Madisen has been with us for about 1 ½ years and has been a welcomed addition to the MACC team. She came to us with a shorter resume of past experiences but a huge passion for animals. Her passion led her to the Penn Foster Veterinary Technology Program which she is getting closer and closer to completing! Madisen has grown immensely within the profession since joining our team and continues to grow each day. She embraces each step in moving forward to her ultimate goal of becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician. Madisen’s attention to detail while caring for her patient is remarkable. She notices even the slightest change and clearly communicates these changes to the doctors. Outside of work she enjoys video games. A fun fact about Madisen is that her favorite animals are exotics. She currently has not only a dog and cat but also Guinea pigs, a hamster, snake and bearded dragons! Please join us in thanking Madisen for her hard work and commitment to providing the best possible care to each of her patients!
