Thank you to Manthey Salvage for generously picking up the aluminum cans from our 3 bins. We received a check for $819.00 for the cans donated by all the wonderful folks who save them for us. The bins are located at Germantown Junction Store, Heinie’s Tavern, and here at the animal shelter. 🐾

My boy (Boots) is missing. He was last seen 9/12 night time. He is missing from Elroy WI area.

🎃 Even though the weather this week might not be giving us those cozy fall vibes just yet, Halloween is just around the corner, which means it's almost time to start decorating! Before you deck out your space, we kindly ask that you skip the fake spiderwebs this year. Here's why (it’s all about keeping our furry and feathered friends safe!):

🕸️ Entanglement Risks: Fake spiderwebs can easily entangle birds (even bird as large as owls!), squirrels, and other small wildlife, restricting their movement and ability to feed or escape predators.

🕸️ Injury and Death: Once entangled, animals may suffer injuries while struggling to break free, which can lead to severe wounds or even death.

🕸️ Blocking Habitats: These artificial webs can also block the natural habitats of creatures like birds and insects, interfering with their daily activities and shelter.

🕸️ Pollution: Made from non-biodegradable materials, fake spiderwebs contribute to pollution and can persist in the environment long after Halloween, posing ongoing risks to wildlife.

🕸️ Alternative Decorations: Consider using environmentally friendly and animal-safe alternatives such as cotton string, paper decorations, or natural elements like straw and corn husks that do not pose a threat to wildlife.
