Been thinking about community a lot lately. Seems like the answer to the current worlds madness is disappearing off grid somewhere. Prepping and ditching society, retreat into a secluded homestead and being done with the outside world. "You see what happened?", "this year sure has been tough", "at least you can disappear", "I wish I could drop off grid". I get these comments a lot from all kinds of people.

I'm here to tell you that's not the answer. The answer is community. Specifically community in Christ. We are a body meant to be joined together. If you find yourself in despair don't retreat, REACH OUT!

I'm thinking about changing up the farm to reflect this if you're at the market come on by and we can talk. That's my favorite part of what we do.

I'm picking the last of the figs. I may have enough for a box or 2 at the market but I may end up eating the rest. It's hot and they're drying up.

As I sit here eating this I'm thinking about my trip coming up in November. Headed to the middle east where the figs grow large and sweet. I'm hoping to try them while I'm there and if they're good maybe I'll take what I like to call a Jeffersonian portion. I could use some help getting out there so if you're willing click the link in my bio. Any and all help is appreciated!

The church pears though are ready and coming in nicely. We'll have plenty of those tomorrow.

10 years old! These boys have become quite the helpers around the farm. Getting big and strong funny and smart. Love these boys!
