Seeking an experienced, mature man that can oversee every aspect of an equestrian boarding facility. Need a ‘Go to Guy’ with several years of barn experience to manage a beautiful, private boarding facility on 64 acres in McKinney, Texas.
Your job will include:
• Working side by side with three other grooms

• Walking horses to pasture

• Mucking stalls

• Experience handling Colic situations/taking temperatures

• Competent in operating tractors, skidsteer & hauling a horse trailer

• Oversee arenas grooming

• Handyman abilities - Fix a broken water pipe or plumbing issue

• Welding experience

• The ability to mend fencing & tighten a cable

• Light Equipment maintenance, oil changes & greasing joints

• Manage the w**d killing, fertilizing & mowing of 60 acres

• Manage Hay Production of square bales

• Speaking Spanish is helpful

Plan on an energetic, robust day (with an hour lunch break), 6 day work week. The clients are wonderful people & housing (with utilities) is provided.

28 grass filled private, semi-private & group pastures Daily turnout (weather permitting) 30 acres of open cross country riding 3 acre lake for horse & rider swimming 1/3 of a mile galloping path around Lake Royal Paddle boat lake journeys 100 x 200' covered and lighted arena lined with 100' of dressage mirrors 160 x 270' outdoor arena with all-weather footing
