Does anyone shear sheep or know someone who does? Safe and experienced only is imperative for wellbeing of two sanctuary sheep.

A new summer campaign to continue our progress here on the sanctuary!

Is anyone available (preferably) this weekend or early Monday (but must be completed before 8:30am if Monday morning) to stump grind a small, short stump? Time sensitive. The Lodge On Saw Mill at 551 Saw Mill Rd, 17055.

Who has a good, reliable chainsaw and wants to come over today asap to earn some money? Will just be cutting up some logs and trunks into manageable pieces. The Lodge On Saw Mill animal rescue and farm sanctuary, located at 551 Saw Mill Rd, Lisburn.

Looking for a couple strong and knowledgeable people to pull farm fencing while I attach to posts. I don’t think this is a job for my younger helpers that usually come, as it requires you to know what you’re doing and be able to tightly pull rolls of heavy fencing. It isn’t the easiest, most fun task but it is simple. My back is injured and I cannot assist in pulling the rolls but I will hammer it into the posts while you pull. Need probably two people to assist every day this week if possible.

The Lodge On Saw Mill animal rescue and farm sanctuary gave away free firewood all winter and early spring. In doing so, all the trucks, trailers, tractors, atvs, etc absolutely destroyed the property, created ruts and essentially made what were beautiful meadows not long ago into a muddy mess and making the grass disappear. It also caused a winter spring from land above to have standing water in these areas with no grass to soak it up and nowhere to drain. Someone aggressively filed multiple complaints against for all the above and more, even going so far as to insinuate our once lush meadows are actually wetlands. Until last nights rain, they were bone dry and cracking, without having the grass formerly there. We were just trying to do good and help people heat their homes or even if they sold the wood to put money in their pocket. Now we’re left with a mess that we’re trying to get cleaned up and fixed up asap. We have had a couple of absolutely wonderful companies helping with this task. What we really desperately need, immediately, is someone who can hydroseed a couple small areas for us that are difficult to keep seed on due to sloping. Is there anyone, or can you recommend someone, who is available to do this quickly and reasonably priced? We reached out to one highly recommended person from another valued and trusted company we work with, but they aren’t even available to come out and look right now. Help?

Anyone AVAILABLE TODAY (preferable) or tomorrow at the latest and want to make a little extra money? I just need a little help stretching chicken wire while I staple it to posts. This isn’t a task I can do alone. It will be at The Lodge On Saw Mill animal rescue and farm sanctuary near the intersection of Andersontown Rd and Saw Mill Rd.

We would very much like to acknowledge and express our appreciation for two companies.
First, Chris Garner and CG Landscaping & Tree have done so much for us to help the animals live happier, healthier lives here on the sanctuary. Because of them, the animals have had dry wood chips when they needed them, other areas have been provided chips to make space more usable, and they have chipped and chipped and chipped so many limbs and debris for us that allow for expansion of pens. They have always gone out of their way to help. Our gratitude cannot be expressed in words. If you need any services that they provide, just know you’re getting honest, fair and skilled people that will do right by you if given the opportunity.
Second, Jack Rotharmel and Freedom Asphalt have twice made themselves immediately available when we needed work done quickly. Not only were they immediately available, but they went above and beyond to provide exceptional quality work to help our animals get new pens and fresh grass. If you need any services they provide, you’ll also get honest, fair and trustworthy people if you give them the opportunity.
It is because of people and companies like this that good still exists in this world. We thank you both so much and look forward to the future you’ve helped create.

We have several posts of extreme gratitude to make. We will do one per day for the next few days. Today, for gratitude post #1 we’d like to thank supporter and friend of the farm, Cindy. We aren’t tagging her because she doesn’t like public recognition. But Cindy has been good to us. She’s donated when she could, offered to purchase items we needed to run a little more efficiently and even arranged for us to receive services at no cost to us. When the rest of the land is cleared and built out, Cindy will be forever remembered in a namesake on the property. Thank you, Cindy, for being a great friend of the farm.

Happy New Year, everyone. We hope 2024 is amazing for you all. We wanted to thank everyone for their support throughout last year and also apologize to you. We didn’t thank you enough, didn’t update you enough, didn’t interact with you enough, didn’t communicate with you enough. We’re so sorry. We do have reasons. In 2023, there were many family issues, personal issues, health issues. There was a lot of sickness, both in animals and humans. There were human and animal hospitalizations and surgeries. There was death and we lost those we love. Due to all the above, we lost income and financial support to the point it felt impossible to keep The Lodge On Saw Mill going. We were so desperate to still care for the animals and keep them safe, we didn’t have time to communicate with you, the ones that help support this cause. We promise to do better in 2024. We will strive to include you more, keep you better updated and provide more photos. We will also post long overdue updates to show you the animals that came into sanctuary care in 2023. This is a donation and volunteer based organization. We need you and hope to prove that to you this year. We hope to provide you with amazing opportunities to bring the community together and utilize this land for the benefit of all. We hope you’ll stick around as some amazing ideas hopefully come to fruition. Love to all!

Are you looking for a way to recycle your pine tree after Christmas? Instead of tossing your Christmas tree to the curb after the holidays, The Lodge On Saw Mill is an animal rescue and farm sanctuary located at 551 Saw Mill Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 will take them for all the rescue animals living in sanctuary care. They have lots of vitamins and they also act as a natural de-wormer so the goats will eat all the needles off the tree and recycle your Christmas trees for you! We do ask that it is a bare natural tree, still living, hasn’t been sprayed with anything to make it shiny, that it’s clean and doesn’t have anything on it like fake snow, tinsel and decorations. Trees meeting the above criteria are the only ones that are healthy and safe for the animals. Please do not leave any trees that don’t meet the above health requirements. Healthy trees may be left at the gate. The goats thank you!

Are you looking for last minute Christmas gifts? Do you have an animal lover in your life? The Lodge On Saw Mill animal rescue and farm sanctuary has a few ideas! We have the most lovable goats and lambs you could ever find; we have pigs, we have rabbits, we have ducks.

Gift idea #1: We are offering 1, 3, and 6 month animal “adoptions”. The rescues stay here on the sanctuary, but your gift recipient picks the animal they want to “adopt” and month(s) they want. That animal is theirs for that time period to come love on, play, cuddle, feed, give treats, whatever they’d like to (safely) do! Prices are 1 month for $50, 3 months for $135 and 6 months for $250.

Gift idea #2: Animal therapy! It really works! Your gift recipient can come an unlimited amount of times and love on ALL the animals they’d like. Usually this would be limited to a once per week visit but we’d like to introduce this gift idea with unlimited visits. It is amazing the peace, calmness and tranquility one achieves while spending time with and loving on animals that were once badly abused or had loving owners that simply could not care for them anymore. 1 month for $100, 3 months for $250 or 6 months for $400.

Gift idea #3: Have a custom made bench created with the name of your gift recipient engraved! We have a few benches throughout the property for visitors to come sit on and take in the park like setting. We need many more! We will custom build and stain a bench and then engrave your gift recipients name on it, to be memorialized forever for your gift recipient and all future visitors to see. Each bench costs about $86 in materials, our labor is free of charge. Purchase a bench for your gift recipient for just $90.

All the above will come with a certificate to present to your gift recipient. Certificate sent via email.

These gift ideas will be offered year round for any occasion. We also graciously accept donations year round. If you’d like to donate in honor of a loved one, living or gone, we will be creating a donor wall for donations above certain dollar amounts.

Merry Christmas to those that celebrate and Happy Holidays to all!

We are again absolutely devastated to announce the loss of Tanner yesterday morning, just one day after his brother Royal passed. He fought very hard from 11/30 to 12/12. He fought really hard. The guilt you feel like you could have done better, you could have done more is beyond overwhelming. All the goats are sick and every minute you worry that another will leave us. You lose sleep or just can’t sleep. But this is love and they are all loved beyond words as a special part of the family.

We are devastated to announce the passing of our beloved Royal. His brother, Tanner, is also a couple hours away at the New Bolton medical facility receiving life saving treatment. We were going to do a GoFundMe to help with Tanner’s care. It turns out the whole herd is sick and we have to make some major changes fast. They all need medical treatment, which they are receiving at home. We have to remove what’s left of the grass out there and cover for the winter with mulch/wood chips. If you’re so inclined, we would be so grateful for anyone that could help with at least Tanner. You could call New Bolton directly and let them know you’d like to contribute toward his care. Their number is 610-444-5800. We would be incredibly grateful as we are pretty scared and worried about everyone right now and also how to afford it all. We’ve never been this worried. We would also be incredibly grateful for as many wood chips as possible and volunteers to help spread them. Thank you.

They are an amazing and wonderful group of people that you just fall in love with and immediately want to be friends. We loved meeting them all and are so very grateful for their help, kindness and compassion. It was an honor.

The Lodge On Saw Mill could really use your help. One of our sweet rescues, Toby had a life threatening emergency yesterday morning. Our options were to euthanize him or take him two hours away for a $2,500 surgery to save his life. That money is going to come due tomorrow and we just don’t have it. He is at the New Bolton Center located at 382 West Street Road Kennett Square, PA 19348. Their phone number is 610-925-1912 if anyone is able to call and contribute funds/make a payment toward his account. We’re tired, we’re beat down, we’re overwhelmed with expenses and expensive tasks yet to do. We need money, we need volunteers. You can also donate via our GoFundMe link:

Toby was severely abused for three years before he arrived here in March 2023. He had never seen another animal other than the pig, Rhys that he had been kept with. Toby and Rhys are bonded and inseparable. We took them both in together. I’m sure Toby is very stressed in the hospital without Rhys and all Rhys does is sit by the gate and make a low howling cry for Toby. Rhys can’t see, so he’s very confused, lonely and sad. Thank you so much for any donation you can make. Helping us helps animals and we all save animal lives.

We haven’t posted in a while and for that I’m sorry. I’ve had some medical issues. I’ve been tired, grumpy and just overall not been my best. BUT, I did want to share photos of the two new lambs we took in with help from the GoFundMe campaign, Bo and Daisy, and the new one year old pig we took in, Lola. They are all already adjusted and so happy! We love that they are forever a part of The Lodge family. ❤️ We’re up to 34 animals now with the room to grow for 100+ more. We pay for all this ourselves. If you’re able, please consider us for a donation.

I know I’ve asked this a couple times over the past year, but we’re still searching. The Lodge On Saw Mill needs a full size refrigerator to store medications, donated fruits/vegetables and food scraps, cold beverages for our volunteers, etc.

It does not need to be fancy, cosmetically perfect or beautiful. It does need to be in good working order so we don’t have to eat the expense of disposing of it. If you have one you’re considering upgrading, getting rid of or donating, we’d be very grateful to be considered for donation.
