The women at our front desk are an essential and invaluable part of our VVH team. Tammy, Rebecca, Jeanne, Hailey, and Heather, you are the first ones to welcome our clients and patients, and make them feel cared for and safe. We are truly a team at VVH and could not provide the essential and compassionate level of veterinary care without these ladies at our front desk. Thank you for all you do for VVH and those we serve!

We are proud to support Freedom Barks Dog Park over the last 10 years. It is such a great part of our Medford community!

Freedom Barks, Inc. would like to recognize Village Veterinary Hospital for continuing to sponsor Squirrel Field at Freedom Barks Dog Park. They recently renewed their sponsorship for another 3 years which means they will have sponsored Squirrel Field from 2017-2027!

Please join us in thanking Village Veterinary Hospital for their dedication to supporting the maintenance of Freedom Barks Dog Park. With their generosity, Freedom Barks, Inc. can afford to have the park's 8 dog waste receptacles serviced weekly. Patient Update from Lynne F.

“Artois is celebrating his 13th birthday today! Please thank Dr. Lipman for saving his life as a neo-natal puppy! His pneumonia tried to steal him from us- but he is a gladiator and fought his way back to full health thanks to Dr. Lipman’s care and expertise. Without her he wouldn’t be here today enjoying life and his birthday bone!”

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ARTOIS from all of us at VVH!

Broken teeth is a very common problem that we see. This is usually due to chewing on a hard substance such as bone, and we recommend avoiding giving dogs real bones to chew on for this reason. When a tooth breaks, the pulp (the innermost layer of the tooth that contains the nerves and blood vessels) can become exposed, resulting in the tooth being prone to infection. When this happens, the recommendation is to extract the tooth to prevent infection. Here, Dr. Andrew Massaro and Sam, one of our surgical assistants, are performing a surgical extraction of a broken carnassial tooth. You can see the exposed pulp, which is the red dot on the surface of the broken tooth in the bottom left photo. The bottom right photo is showing the gums sutured closed following successful extraction.
