Fall Preg Checking

Yesterday was a windy and busy day for everyone here on the farm! Ran everybody through the chute, and ended the day with only 2 opens, but more impressively, only one recip who didn’t stick her embryo! We would never have the embryo success we do without the work of Larry and Cheryl Nelson of Nelson Reproductive Services (Versailles, Kentucky). Their dedication to the industry is impeccable, and we are so blessed to have the opportunity to have them come up to the farm in Iowa as much as they do. We also can’t express how impressed we are with our two herd bulls who were purchased at the 2017 Southwest Simmental Group Sale, both reigning from the very successful program of the Jeff Fitzsimmons family. We are extremely grateful for the genetic opportunities we have invested in, and can’t be any more excited for 2018’s calf crop to hit the ground. Bring on calving season!
