We are happy to let everyone know that Lily has been adopted. One of our long time volunteers had just lost the last of her three kitties. She said her house was too quiet and she wanted to adopt another cat. Having worked with Lily for the past months, she knew how sweet this girl was, and decided she wanted to give Lily a home.
We are so excited for these two - our volunteer has a new pet and Lily has the best home. She immediately made herself right at home. Here are some pictures we were sent of Lily exploring and finding her new favorite place - the bed.

Sammy is still in the shelter waiting for his forever home and it's been quite a while that he's been with us. Since being in the shelter we have learned that Sammy has some quirks. He likes his butt scratched, but only likes his head touched if you don't come over the top. He still lets us know when he is done getting attention by giving us a swipe. We can read his body language and usually can stop before we get the paw. He doesn't like to be picked up or held. For these reasons, Sammy will do best in adult home or one with older children. No little kids for this guy. He would also do best as the only cat in the house. A quiet, non- aggressive dog may be a possibility.
We know Sammy would love to be in a home where there is activity to keep him engaged and where he can look out a window or nap to his hearts content. This is the 3rd time that we have put Sammy up on our FB page and we hope the 3rd time is the charm. Every shelter cat deserves a home of their own and Sammy is no different. Lily is one of the sweetest cats we have had at the shelter. She is an adorable calico with tiger markings. Lily was surrendered to us after her owner sadly passed away. Lily is a bit older, but you would never know it. She is a very loving, social girl who loves to be the center of attention. She is not happy about being picked up, but she follows us around talking to us with her sweet meow. Her big green eyes will lure you in for petting and grooming. Some of her favorite things are bird watching, interactive play with a string toy, catnip and lots and lots of attention. Lily is such a love bug and is eager to find her new home. Lily would do best as an only cat in an adult home or a home with older children.

Luke and Jackson are bonded, older kittens. Jackson is the gray one with the huge paws 🙂. We had their whole litter, but these boys needed a little extra help with their socialization skills. With the hard work of the volunteers and the kittens, themselves, they have finally come to trust people. They will probably never be snugglers , but may end up sitting on the couch with you, just a couple of feet away. They love treats and playing with string toys - two ways they could bond with their new people. We have seen cats do a 180 with their personalities once they are in a home. Being with the same people/person does wonders for some cats. These guys potentially could become real love bugs. They have to be adopted together and older children who understand their personalities would be best.

Meet Snickers and Reese. This bonded pair came to us when their owners had to move and were unable to take the boys with them. Snickers is the shyer of the two, but they have both come a long way. Reese will be your lap cat and Snickers will cuddle up next to you. What a wonderful way to pass the time reading a book or watching tv with them right with you. They are playful and love to be brushed and groomed by the volunteers. These two boys will need to be adopted together. If you are looking for a pair of affectionate, loving cats they just might be for you.

Sammy still hasn’t found his forever home and he is waiting patiently. Since he has been with us he has mellowed a little. He’s not crazy about having his head touched but likes his back end gently scratched. He will even roll onto his back and show his belly while it’s being done. We still think he needs to be adopted into an adult only home or a home with older kids. If you are looking to give a quiet cat a home and don’t care if the cat doesn’t follow you around, he maybe the guy for you. Please think long and hard about Sammy. He deserves to be in a home.

We had such a good response with our post about Cali that we decided to give one of the other cats that came in with her his own post and a chance at finding a home. This is Sammy. He is about 5 years old and he is handsome! He is a tuxedo cat and has the biggest yellow eyes that are so very expressive. We all wish we knew what he was telling us with those eyes.
Sammy is more independent then his two housemates and can sometimes have a bit of an attitude. He doesn’t enjoy being held, but he does like the attention when you talk him. He will sit still for a short time while we groom him, but then he has had enough. He enjoys relaxing on the window perch and watching the world go by and,also, loves a good catnip toy to bat around and pounce on. Sammy should probably be an only cat and should live with older children. He would make a good companion for someone who understands his quirkiness and who finds that OK. We hope with your help we can find this boy his home. Remember, the more people who share our posts, the more people who see them.

PCS QUILT RAFFLE 2023!
The fall season is here which means it’s time for our annual PCS Quilt Raffle! Each year talented quilters donate quilts to raise money to help care for the cats and kittens at the shelter. This year we will have 4 beautiful hand-crafted quilts. A lot of love and creativity go into designing these unique quilts to benefit PCS. The drawing will be held Sunday November 5th, 2023 and winners will be notified by phone. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. All proceeds from this fundraiser directly benefit the cats and kittens cared for by The Purr-fect Cat Shelter. Thank you for your support in our efforts to help homeless cats and kittens find their forever homes.

We did it! Cali found her furever home yesterday. A couple who had adopted from us years ago had just lost their last cat (not the one adopted from us). They felt they were ready to bring a new cat into the house and wanted to adopt an older cat rather than a kitten. They saw Cali's picture and story on our FB page and decided they wanted to meet her. After sending in their application and being approved, they came in yesterday to meet our girl. I think a new record was set for the amount of time it took them to decide they wanted to adopt her - maybe 5 minutes .😀 Cali will be an only cat and will be well spoiled.
Thank you all for your help. We reached over 1100 people with the post and a lot of you shared it. The more people that see our posts, the better chance we have of finding the right person/people for our cats. We couldn't have done this adoption without you all.

This is Cali. Cali is a 7 yo sweetheart of a cat. She came to us with 2 of her housemates when their owner suddenly passed away and family members were unable to take the cats. Since she has been with us, Cali has blossomed. She loves to play with string toys and her little mice. She talks to us with her squeaky voice and she loves to sit next to us and be groomed. She will jump up and settle in next to us and would stay that way for hours, if we had the time. This would be the purrfect way to bond with her. Cali is a laid back cat and while we would love her to be an only cat, we think she may get along with another, older, laid back cat. She would make a wonderful companion for an older person.
