We had a very successful kick off day for the reduced price feline spay and neuter special!

Six kitties are now protected against rabies and have been spayed and neutered. These three brothers, from the same home, will get to grow and live together without negative male associated behaviors including; roaming, fighting, and territorial marking.

Beautiful “Boo” is back home with her humans today. Boo presented to Dr. Whitt on an emergency basis for a uterine prolapse. A uterine prolapse needs to be fixed immediately as not only can it prevent urination, leading to risk of bladder rupture, the tissue can also lose blood supply and environmental contamination can lead to severe infection. After the prolapse is reduced a standard spay procedure is performed. The risk of uterine prolapse can be completely eliminated with spaying females, watch for our next post for our upcoming spay and neuter specials!

No IV pole? No problem! Roany is receiving iv antibiotic therapy for suspected Potomac Horse Fever.

Potomac Horse Fever is hard to test for as titer tests can be unreliable and treatment needs to be started promptly. Diagnosis is generally based off of clinical symptoms which can include: fever, lethargy, colic, and diarrhea.

Roany has responded favorably to treatment further confirming the suspected diagnosis.

What will this cost? What about body care afterward?

Dr. Whitt charges a minimum fee of $320 for in home small animal peaceful passing appointments, this includes the consultation and appointment. There may be additional charges depending on mileage, urgency, and pet size, this will never exceed $400. If you need an exact quote please contact us so we can discuss the details of location and pet’s size.

Please contact us for large animal and pet livestock pricing.

Dr. Whitt accepts cash, check, Venmo, and Facebook pay. Invoices can be sent and payment can be arranged prior to the appointment with respect to the grieving process.

After our pet’s passing we need to have a plan for their earthly vessel. At home burial is an option for some owners, it is the owner’s responsibility to comply with all local and state laws and regulations if pursuing at home burial. At home burial may not be an option for all pet owners. Dr. Whitt does work with a crematorium and can help you arrange cremation if that is your desire. Those charges will be separate from Dr. Whitt’s charges. Owners are also welcome to use a crematorium of their choice.

Let’s help reduce unwanted kittens, Dr. Whitt is offering a $50 tom cat special the month of June, multiple bookings are appreciated, so talk to your neighbors, friends and family(even the ones you don’t want to!) Reduced price rabies vaccinations offered as well, $10 if given at the time of neuter. So kennel them, trap them, bribe them, let’s fix some tom cats!

Cremation services.

If you choose to have your pet cremated, and use the crematorium Dr. Whitt works with, Dr. Whitt will deliver your pet to the crematorium for you and will arrange the return of your pet’s ashes to you.

Dr. Britt Whitt was born and raised in The Bighorn Basin of Wyoming. She graduated from C.S.U in 2013 and launched her mixed animal mobile practice. Dr. Whitt continues to work as a veterinarian, and is also a mother and small rancher. Dr. Whitt offers a unique service to the basin area that she is passionate about. In 2022 she chose to expand her “peaceful home passing” services beyond her clients. Peaceful home passing means Dr. Whitt will come to your home or a place your pet is comfortable in or at for euthanasia services. End of life choices for our companions are hard enough without feeling the stress and strain of having to visit the veterinarian’s office, Dr. Whitt wanted to offer another option for animal owners of the area.
