From time to time, it is important to let our community know about how we source our puppies. Especially now when we have seen such awful news about seriously dubious practices of some highly unethical breeding.

We have been in business since 1997 and it is a testament to working with some of the best breeders in the nation. In fact, we are amongst the most regulated sources of puppies in the county, and for that matter, the country. Backyard breeders, puppy mills, and hoarder houses are not regulated. All of our breeders must meet a premium standard of care. They MUST have clean government inspection records consecutively year over year.

Many of our puppies come from breeders who have paid a lot of money for Canine Care Certification.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝?

𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬: Breeders seeking certification must meet or exceed stringent standards related to physical and behavioral welfare. These standards cover areas such as nutrition, veterinary care, genetic screening, housing, handling, and exercise.
Created by Experts: The program’s standards were developed by Dr. Candace Croney, Ph.D., at Purdue University in 2013. They are informed by ongoing research conducted by the Croney Research Group and other experts in canine welfare science.

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐬: Canine Care Certified conducts audits to ensure that breeders adhere to the established standards. This program provides assurance to consumers that dogs and puppies raised by certified breeders receive proper care.

𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥-𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠: Unlike many other certifications, Canine Care Certified places significant emphasis on the behavioral health of dogs. This holistic approach ensures that dogs are not only physically healthy but also mentally and emotionally well.

𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝: Breeders who participate in the program undergo independent audits to verify compliance with the standards. This transparency helps consumers make informed decisions.
