It's HAWT, ya'll! We are playing inside until Aunt Becky says we can go outside!π
During Luz's Board and Train Exit Session, we worked on many commands. However, our focus was walking nicely on leash at heel and Wait. In the video, Luz is walking nicely with her owners and waiting to walk between the tables. Her owners choose which way they want her to walk, and she must keep up. This is a huge progress for Luz, because before obedience training, she used her body to push her way around to walk out in front of her owners, sometimes pulling so hard, she would make them lose their balances. Luz must also wait at doorways as her owners must enter and exit first. When given release command, Luz then is allowed to move forward with her owner at heel.
Luz has come a long way, and we enjoyed working with her and her owners! Good job! π
Doug is doing great! "Sit, Down, Come, Walking nicely at heel,..." π€©ππ
Sometimes you gotta ride with the top down so your senior can enjoy the early evening sunshine and feel the air in her fur. We are headed Downtown for a stroll along the river. Lyla's favorite pastime! π
Five month old Giant Schnauzer, Prince, had his first obedience training field trip! We went to Overton Park where he walked nicely on leash at my heel, practiced sits and downs, and recall at 6 feet. He has done a fantastic job today!
Girly and I Work and Walk for the first time at Overton Park! Girly is continuing her obedience training and we are now taking field trips where there are many distractions. Also, part of her obedience training was the ride in the car where she had to practice being quiet. She did NOT do her usual hysterical barking, not even once! This was her first field trip where she had to do her obedience training commands that she learned in isolation at Paw Paw's. She walked nicely on leash as well as doing leave it, wait, sits, and downs successfully!
In the video, she kept pace at my heel with no corrections. She only required verbal and touch positive reinforcement.
Before Blue's Walk and Work next level obedience training, he refused to go up and down stairs. Now, Linda says, "Let's Go", and they ascend and descend the stairs.
Great job! π
Blue did a fabulous job at a local store today! Not bad for a pup that was overreactive and anxious on a leash. Paw Paw's Walk and Work obedience training program has been a great benefit to him.ππ€©
Look at this awesome pack on a beautiful February day!π€©
Brady is coming out of his shell. There is no way he can resist Reba's charms as his tail slowly untucks. He is also learning recall as he sniffs around the indoor play area.
Good job, Brady!
Some of our "Sillies" are playing while it snows and blows outside!
Toby is learning how to socialize with "the littles". He learning what's acceptable sniffing and interaction is and what is not. Good job, pups!
Oh, the Paw Paw's Pack today...new puppy-in- training is learning how to socialize! Smokey is learning how to engage, understanding the mores of the pack, as well as older dogs setting boundaries. Smokey runs back to me to check in with the leader of the pack. Then, he is back to engaging with Sasha, who is his age. I love canine language!

Cairo goes on a field trip and works on his down-stay! πππ
Pearl is almost ready to take the AKC CGC test! We are enjoying our obedience training session today as we take in the view of the Mississippi River. What a great way to begin the weekend!
Reagan was part of our 4 week board and train program. She is working on her AKC CGC test while training to be a service dog to her owner. I visit Paul every 2 weeks to make sure he is ok, making progress, and answer any questions as we navigate training Reagan with a walker. She is confident, calm, and listens to his commands as we attempt recall for the first time while using a walker.
Good job, Reagan and Paul!π
Snoopy and Nellie practice recall in the pack!
Good job!π
Snoopy is beginning to accept obedience training. He turns left and right with me, maintains walking at my heel, and does downs with little to no touch. His play is also improving in Daycare.
Good job, Snoopy!π
Wyatt Earp has joined Paw Paw's Board and Train program! He is already walking nicely on leash, doing sits and downs, and being less reactive after 1 day of obedience training.
Let's welcome Wyatt to the Paw Paw's Pack!
