We have been caring for pets in Miami and South Florida since 1965. Walk-in Patient Hours: Mon-Sat, 9am-Noon & 2pm-4:30pm Marmesh, Jr. passed away in August 2000.

Coconut Grove Animal Clinic was founded during the days of the 'Old Grove.' It has been rich in family tradition and pet care ever since. After graduating from the University of Minnesota Dr. Michael Marmesh, Sr. opened Coconut Grove Animal Clinic in 1965. His wife Sarah Marmesh acted as office manager and they maintained a small-town business in an area that quickly grew up around the clinic. In

1978, the couple was joined by their son Dr. Michael E. after he graduated from Ohio State University. The father and son pair worked together until Dr. Marmesh, Sr. Michael's wife Nancy has taken on the job of business manager while continuing to work as an elementary school gifted teacher. Most recently Dr. Kate Marmesh (daughter of Dr. Marmesh, Jr.) has come to work with her father. She graduated from St.George's University in May 2005 and worked in Fayetteville, Tennessee until June 2008. She has returned home to be the third generation in this family business.

Yesterday we had to say goodbye to a very special patient and friend. Coco never made it over 2lbs for the 13 years we were honored to have her on this Earth. She had the strength and will of a dog fifty times her size. She also had a heart of gold and the very sight of her cute little self would spread joy wherever she went. She traveled more than most people ever get to. She survived many challenges and her size never slowed her down. We will miss you Coco. You have the most amazing and loving family who gave you the most incredible life. You were truly one of a kind! ❤️💔❤️
