Thank you to everyone for the well wishes and prayers for Pirate , he is feeling a bit better today so hopefully if he can tolerate the meds he will be on the mend! He is the best dog ever and appreciates all the love as do I ❤️❤️

Long day at the ER with my baby Pirate , it’s so heart wrenching when they are not feeling well and you feel So helpless 😩
Hopefully after 6 hours in the waiting room and 10 years of worrying he will be feeling better soon . Hopefully we can both sleep tonight

Ladies ! They have been working hard and riding lovely tests improving each time ! Hailey even won high point jr rider for Connecticut Dressage Association series and recieved a beautiful long neck ribbon and a check!! Woohoo !! Anyone looking for a nice gelding great trail horse excellent manners good in the arena too and great on the road . Has done some small jumps and seems to like that also 15.2-3 grade QH cross bay 14 years old up to date on everything and super easy in the barn lives in a herd and good in stall . He will only go to a great home hopefully someone I k ow is looking would be great schoolie too for the students coming out if the beginner phase tardy to move up a notch . Training level dressage success and goes English or western wonderful trail horse can put anyone on him to follow down the trail

Hi all trying to find a forever loving home for this awesome super friendly older dog . Toby is 10 years old no health issues happy as can be loves kids and housebroken of course. Super friendly happy go lucky dog needs his forever home . Probably best with no cats but good with dogs !

When horses come to me for training or rehab or to be started , handled , helped whatever the issue may be , the first thing we do here is to do a complete evaluation of the horses health and mind . If they have horrible feet or bad teeth or are in poor condition , or a bad state of mind that is not a place I start working a horse from . We want them to feel good look good and think good before we start or finish and introduce their education to them . I have always had a spot for those so called “problem horses “ or hard to keep horses you know the ones that fight and Buck and spook and are just not in a good place ? Ya those ones and I would have to say a majority of the time it’s just physical and mental misunderstanding , once you clear that up things get a whole lot easier . So quick 30 day training programs or pushing everything on them at once type of drills … ya that’s not for me or any horse I start, fix rehab or finish . I am grateful to my clients and students who share this line of thinking that patience pays off, time heals most wounds and positive reinforcement with clear boundaries is important . The little tornado thought it would be fun to roll and play in the giant pond that has taken over our lower paddock then roll in mud then the sawdust ! The kids will have lots of grooming to do .

As we move through the holidays into blue January, some of us need this list (and that’s ok):

DEPRESSION TIPS:
Shower. Not a bath, a shower.
Use water as hot or cold as you like. You don’t even need to wash. Just get in under the water and let it run over you for a while. Sit on the floor if you gotta.

Moisturize everything.
Use whatever lotion you like.
Unscented? Dollar store lotion? Fancy 48 hour lotion that makes you smell like a field of wildflowers? Use whatever you want, and use it all over your entire dermis.

Put on clean, comfortable clothes.
Put on your favorite underwear.
Those ridiculous boxers you bought last christmas with candy cane hearts on the butt? Put them on.

Drink cold water.
Use ice. If you want, add some mint or lemon for an extra boost.

Clean something.
Doesn’t have to be anything big. Organize one drawer of a desk. Wash five dirty dishes. Do a load of laundry. Scrub the bathroom sink.

Blast music.
Listen to something upbeat and dancey and loud, something that’s got lots of energy. Sing to it, dance to it, even if you suck at both.

Make food.
Don’t just grab a granola bar to munch. Take the time and make food. Even if it’s ramen. Add something special to it, like a soft boiled egg or some veggies. Prepare food, it tastes way better, and you’ll feel like you accomplished something.

Make something.
Write a short story or a poem, draw a picture, color a picture, fold origami, crochet or knit, sculpt something out of clay, anything artistic. Even if you don’t think you’re good at it. Create.

Go outside.
Take a walk. Sit in the grass. Look at the clouds. Smell flowers. Put your hands in the dirt and feel the soil against your skin.

Call someone.
Call a loved one, a friend, a family member, call a chat service if you have no one else to call. Talk to a stranger on the street. Have a conversation and listen to someone’s voice. If you can’t bring yourself to call, text or email or whatever, just have some social interaction with another person. Even if you don’t say much, listen to them. It helps.

Cuddle your pets if you have them/can cuddle them.
Take pictures of them. Talk to them. Tell them how you feel, about your favorite movie, a new game coming out, anything.

May seem small or silly to some, but this list keeps people alive.

*** At your absolute best you won’t be good enough for the wrong people. But at your worst, you’ll still be worth it to the right ones. Remember that. Keep holding on.
*** In case nobody has told you today I love you and you are worth your weight and then some in gold, so be kind to yourself and most of all keep pushing on!!!!
