We took a promising track yesterday on what appeared to hit something vascular based on the amount of blood. The blood trail shut down after 60 yards with one drop in the snow 100 yards past the original trail and a small amount of blood in a wound bed 120 yards past that.

Robber indicated live deer before we found the blood spot and bed and I think we may have jumped him. We continued to work the property but Nose Don’t Lie!

We tracked this deer for two days and across a river twice in November. We’re thankful for the Fort Riley Soldier who found it and allowed us to take possession of the head. It will be given to the hunter out of Florida so he can get his personal best deer hung on the wall!

It’s gotten slow lately for us, but we had the pleasure of tracking a hunters first deer.

It’s always tough for me to tell a hunter that we think the deers alive without physically jumping them. I could tell from Robbers interest with the trail and lack of signs that this deer was not fatally wounded.

We appreciate it when a hunter follows up with us once they come back around. It gives me peace of mind that we made the right call.

Today marks the end of our trackation of 22 days on the trail. It’s truly been an amazing year. We’ll probably take a few more over the weekends, but it’s time to head back to the day job unfortunately.

Jacob had his arrow hit a twig and hit a little back. The blood looked right for liver and lung. Robber pick up the trail and jumped him out of a bed. He didn’t look great so we pressed on and ended up finding him in his final resting place. 3/4 miles in total.

It was a hot and long track so Robber took a celebratory swim on the way back to the truck.
