2024 Solar Eclipse Pet Safety

Just a friendly reminder - during a solar eclipse, it's a good idea to keep your furry friends indoors. The sun's rays can be harmful to their eyes, and the sudden change in light might spook them. Many pets react to eclipses just like they do to fireworks or thunderstorms.

I’m about a day late and a dollar short, but look at my newest fur-friends!
I had the pleasure of sitting for Brandon Collins & his lovely wife, Ami (whom FB will not let me tag for whatever reason!!! 😡).
I got to cuddle, snuggle and play with Dexter (aka Mr. Dexter), Maeve (aka Marge as I call her), Shay (aka Pretty Girl) & Renly (aka Reginald).

Dexter is a handsome mixed breed that will absolutely melt your heart with his little pout and absolute cuteness. He wants all the love and attention and loves his treats!

Maeve is a mixed breed as well, absolute sweetheart, and she too loves cuddles and treats. She and I have had lots of convos about how much of a good girl she is 😂.

Shay is a shy kitty with the prettiest golden eyes you’ve ever seen. I was told she peeks out to say hello, but she warmed up to me pretty quickly and I had the pleasure of giving her her daily back scratches. She purrs super loud too!!

And finally we have this handsome man, Renly. He’s an absolute sweetie and so curious. He makes the best biscuits you can buy on his blankie, and he loves his head and neck scratches.

I can’t wait to spend time with these lovely 4 again!!

We need more people like this.

"- “Room 8” ( 1947–1968 )
Room 8 was a neighborhood cat who wandered into a classroom in 1952 at Elysian Heights Elementary School in Echo Park, California. He lived in the school during the school year and then disappeared for the summer, returning when classes started again. This pattern continued without interruption until the mid-1960s.
News cameras would arrive at the school at the beginning of the year waiting for the cat's return; he became famous and would receive up to 100 letters a day addressed to him at the school. Eventually, he was featured in a documentary called Big Cat, Little Cat and a children's book, A Cat Called Room 8. Look magazine ran a three-page Room 8 feature by photographer Richard Hewett in November 1962, titled "Room 8: The School Cat". Leo Kottke wrote an instrumental called "Room 8" that was included in his 1971 album, Mudlark.
As he got older, Room 8 was injured in a cat fight and suffered from feline pneumonia, so a family near the school volunteered to take him in. The school's janitor would find him at the end of the school day and carry him across the street.
His obituary in the Los Angeles Times rivaled that of major political figures, running three columns with a photograph. The cat was so famous that his obituary ran in papers as far away as Hartford, Connecticut. The students raised the funds for his gravestone. He is buried at the Los Angeles Pet Memorial Park in Calabasas, California."

Hello everyone!

So far.. for August, I still have two weekends available should you need someone to keep an eye on your babies!

For September, I’m allowing two weekends open for sitting, due to my work schedule being so hectic.

I’ve had a few people ask me about the dog sitting (which is so exciting because it means I’m really getting my name out there!), and I figured it would be a good idea to keep you updated on stuff like that.

Any questions, feel free to message or text/call! ❤️

Happy Sundayyyy!
How was your weekend?
Mine was spent with two more lovely pups! (And a bonus pup that needed a little extra love in the area!)
This is Macy and Gabe. Both of these dogs are absolute sweethearts and love what I love most—- napping.

Macy is a chocolate lab and such a gentle giant. Whenever I’d say her name she’d trot over, tail just a wagging. She loves her soft blankies and treats (I can’t blame her!).

Gabe is a little sh*tzu/beagle mix and he’s my little old man. My shadow. My new bestie. Lol. He followed me everywhere I went, and if I stopped rubbing his belly, he’d take that paw and scratch at me til I did it again.

I can’t express how thankful I am that you guys chose me to love and care for your pups in your absence. Thank you so so so much, Lindsey & Lisa! I loved my time here! ❤️

This popped up on my photo memories.
I had just leveled up to a “yellow” level dog handler at Brandywine.
This was back in 2017. I worked myself ragged and my free time was dedicated to all the animals there.
Every animal I showed at adoption events ended up getting adopted.
To say I miss it is an understatement. 😞

How’s your weekend going? Mine is rather fantastic, if you were wondering.. 🥰

I’ve spent the last couple days here with these cuties and their sister-cat. The cattle dog, his name is Jackson, the bulldog is Lulu and the cat is Penelope.

Jackson is an active boy— he loves when you throw his ball around the yard and has been my little shadow since I got here. 🩵

Lulu is a princess, for sure! She naps just as much as I do, and if you didn’t notice, she’s quite the model as well. 😂

P.. aka Penelope is rather camera shy, but she is SUCH A SWEETHEART. Her little nose is half pink, half black— something I’ve never seen on a cat before— and she is just the cutest little somebody. I carried her around the house while I did some stuff and she was so happy, purring and drooling out of pure contentment!

Tomorrow I go back home to my own fur babies, but I’m definitely looking forward to seeing these 3 again!

Hello everyone!
My name is Megan, and I’m just your above average animal lover here in Sussex County.

I’ve always loved animals of every size, shape and creed, and I’ve dipped my toes in animal care on more than one occasion.

I’ve interned at animal hospitals and had firsthand teachings of basic animal care, and I’ve volunteered numerous hours of my time at the local animal shelter in hopes of helping animals find their furever homes! ❤️

I’ve also worked at a boarding/grooming facility, so scooping poopies and bathing your pup is no hassle at all!

I have pets of my own, so I know the love and compassion that comes along with being a fur mom as well.

Right now, I’m open to weekends that you may need someone to come in and keep an eye on your babies.. and hopefully from there I can start doing more than just weekends.
I work a full time job Monday-Friday until 4:30, so please understand that I am working around those hours.

Pricing can be discussed, based on what your animal(s) may need during my time with them.

No animal is too big, and no animal is too small— I have enough love to take care of them all! ❤️❤️
