Thank you to everyone who came out this season for making it a great event to shoot photos at. Sorry to take a while getting photos out. We welcomed a new future fun run participant (Max) to the family the day after the finals, so time to work on photos has been scarce.

I shot photos at the first Lucky K Fun Run in October 2022 to help Taylor get some action shots from the day for herself and to promote future events. I ended up getting hooked on being around the fun atmosphere and trying to get the best action shots. My goal for the 2023 season was to improve my skills and equipment to do the best job of capturing the moments for you with your families and horses.

I just want to take a second and say thank you to everyone that participated, helped, or cheered the riders on this year at our first Lucky K Fun Run series!!

Some changes will definitely come with next year but after a much needed break I will be excited to plan the 2024 series!

Every single one of you and your kiddos made the series so worth it!!

We pushed through wind, mud, 100 degree days, 30 degree days…. Y’all are troopers!!

Following the event will be the Fun Run:
We are changing it to a partner event and it will be the toilet paper race, I will explain the rules the day of. Please sign up with your partner in the office. (To cold for the drinking game)

Following this will be the Halloween Costume Contest
Horse & rider must be part of it...

Winners will be announced at end of series awards, so will individual event prizes.

Once all the horse shenanigans are done we will move over to the livestock barn (show ring) and start the dinner and awards!!

PLEASE READ if attending Saturdays Fun Run....

1. Event start time will be 1:00pm. Open arena will be from 10:30-11:30, Pole expos will be 11:30-12:00 and barrel expos will be 12:00-12:30. Please do NOT ride in the arena during expos.

2. There is an event going on in the main building so please do not park at the building, stay as close to the arena or livestock buildings as you can. Do not use the bathrooms in the building or go in for any reason.

3. It's going to be cold so bundle up!!

4. Food truck will be on site, but keep in mind we are feeding you supper if you're staying for awards.

5. This event is open to anyone & everyone and so is the dinner!!

6. I (Taylor) have a gift for everyone that competes at the finals fun run and stays for the dinner.

7. Dinner and awards will be immediately following the event. We will hurry as much as we can but please be patient with me.

8. I am going to be super shorthanded on help so please be patient with me and feel free to help with a gate or raking or setting a barrel it will save us tons of time if you're sitting close by!

9. The order of events is going to be slightly different so please watch for that post following this one!

After talking with people and watching the weather we have decided to keep the Finals fun run AS PLANNED.

There is a chance of snow but the rain is gone, if it starts flurrying we will make sure to drag the arena a little extra to keep it out of the sand.

It’s going to be cold so bring your hats and gloves, a few changes will be made to the schedule so please watch for that post!!

I will set up extra canopy’s for people to sit under, and I will set up a heater in the area we are doing our dinner and prizes to give people a spot to warm their hands!

Note to self for next year, don’t do the finals in Oct 🤪🤪 it’s all a learning curve!
