First Flight Farm has been in operation since 2003 right here in Monticello, Florida. Founded by former World Hunter Champion Rider, 1991 Pan Am Games Puerto Rican Equestrian Coach and Current Large “R” Judge, Dacia Funkhouser Johnson. Dacia Provides a wealth of knowledge when it comes to high level showing, fox h

unting, horse care and overall equine knowledge. Dacia’s daughter, Riley Haines, who is a current USEF Certified Trainer and ANRC Certified Rider is also an integral part of the business. She utilizes the Forward Riding System originally developed by Federico Caprilli and taught to the Italian Cavalry School in 1904. This system enables her to teach beginners all the way up to experienced veterans. She has expertise in horse and rider training as well as decades of personal horse show experience at some of the highest levels. Her desire to share the sport she loves is obvious the second you meet her. Her husband, Chris Haines, brings his expertise in business management, recreational facilities management and his passion for all things related to animal nutrition to the table. He operates our other business, First Flight Feed. FFF is a distributor of ADM (www.admanimalnutrition.com) and Tribute feeds (www.tributeequinenutrition.com). 90% of our business is delivery based, but we do have self pickup options for smaller orders. We host horse shows, have a lesson program, broker horse sales, board horses indoor/outdoor, and compete regionally in hunter/jumper shows.
