These cats know that when the dogs are on command and in down stays they have to be controlled. Its really nice when people care enough for others that they spend the time and money to train a Therapy Dog. Kelly and Crackers are a great team who are doing just that! They have a job in a nursing home, bringing joy to the elderly. Kelly is also a great medium size Goldendoodle breeder. Many of her pups are currently being trained by us as Service Dogs. We are SO proud of our step dog (Peter's Dog) Bigsby. We raised and trained him for two years for Peter. Now Peter is training him to be comfortable on stage. He is wearing his ear protection and looks like he's having a great time listening to his owners great music. Bigsby started as a pup in Pete's music room so he's very comfortable. We are SO proud of these two as a team! WE LOVE THEM BOTH TO THE MOON AND BACK!

We have seen so many dogs act as FUR ANGELS for autistic children, veterans, and all kinds of people young and old. They LOVE to learn how to serve their owners as service dogs! They learn to comfort, calm anxiety, block personal space, get help, balance, pick up things dropped, get medicine, bring water, open doors, help people up, and a myriad of other things their owners need, depending on the disability. Our trainers love teaching our therapy dogs tricks to help the public they will be serving! This is Rafa working hard and we are so proud of him!

Besides training at the facility, taking the dogs on walks like the owners would is very beneficial. We are lucky enough to have many places to walk near us.

Izzy knows what her owner does when she is anxious. When she sees this swaying behavior, she nudges her to call her attention to her anxiety and break the behavior.

Izzy is a veteran service dog. Here she is executing β€œWatch 6” which is watching the veterans back. She watches people mill about but when they approach within touching distance she alerts by standing up and stepping forward. The handler knows this is the only reason she would get up from the seated heel position.

Poppins is a Certified Service Dog. She hadn't done lights for some time and proves to her owner here how much she remembers. Even using her paw when it doesn't work with her nose! :-)

Service dog outing at Opryland hotel atrium. 11 service dogs came! They all got a boat ride and practiced elevator and escalator training. We then ate lunch at the Cascades restaurant. All had a good time.

Bella is a child’s service dog. She needs to respond delicately to his needs with a head in his lap ❀️

Many of the Service Dogs that we train are for PTSD, Anxiety, or Autism. They all have in common that the dog needs to learn the owners anxiety tells (how they express their anxiety) commonly leg bouncing or fidgeting with hands or hair. The trainer (Training Director Emily here) will copy the handlers behavior to teach the dog to NUDGE or alert the handler to their anxiety. This then can be followed by soothing the owner with PRESSURE on the lap. Often times by calling attention to the handlers anxiety they will then learn to associate the TRIGGERS that cause anxiety and break the cycle.

Meet Poppins! Poppins is a Super Dog who has saved her handlers life several times. She loves to work for her owners Hannah and David who are the nicest people ever!
