The city is once again on the prowl and ready to ‘round up’ our feral feline friends. Established in 2021, our Trap Neuter Release (TNR) program stabilizes the feral cat population by humanely trapping, sterilizing, and vaccinating cats before they are returned to their outdoor habitat. The TNR program runs from April – October. Call (989) 779-5105 to report feral cat issues.

SERVICE HIGHLIGHT: OWNER EDUCATION 📝
Education of owners is stressed to help heal their animals and prevent future injury. Information about the animal’s condition and expectations will be given as well as a written exercise program for home. Owner education is FREE to current clients receiving other treatments!

SERVICE HIGHLIGHT: STANCE ANALYSIS 📈
The Stance Analyzer measures how much weight is placed on each leg. It lets us know if there is a problem in a leg that we have missed with conventional physical therapy evaluation. It also helps us show progression of strength as the dog heals after injury. This picture is an example of the information we are given using the Stance Analyzer. The front legs of a dog should carry 60% of the dog’s weight (30% on each leg). The rear legs should carry 40% of the body weight (20% on each rear leg). This picture shows that this dog is only bearing 10% of its weight on the right rear leg. It is shifting its weight forward and left to compensate. We will repeat this test in a month and see if the right rear leg is getting stronger with treatment or not.

This is Remi! Remi’s back legs are paralyzed. In the video, Amy is patterning her back legs to remind her what it feels like to walk. Although her injury is largely unknown, she has made progress with this treatment!

UPDATE! 🩵
Remember Willow? She has been adopted and now is named Parker! She had one additional surgery and was able to keep her front leg, although it did receive some injury. She did lose an eye but has adapted well. Parker is cleared from PT! We thank everyone who donated to help cover costs of treatment! Parker is very happy in her new home and doing well! (Check out the cute video of Parker in the comments!)

SERVICE HIGHLIGHT: MANUAL THERAPY🤗
Manual Therapy is a hands-on approach to improve joint function, increase tissue extensibility, mobilize or manipuate joints and soft tissue, promote relaxation, decrease pain, and decrease soft tissue inflammation and/or swelling. These techniques include joint mobilizations, traction, soft tissue massage, deep tissue massage, cross friction massage, and passive range of motion.
Cost per treatment is $30 for each 15 minutes.
