Q. Am I a veterinarian or vet tech?
A. No, I am not. I have 30 years experience as a laboratory scientist with an extreme passion for dogs, particularly those with special needs and rescues.
Q. What qualifications do I have to do this service?
A. As a laboratory scientist, l am extremely meticulous and patient. I have a very special connection to dogs. There is no specific license to do my service. The Wisconsin Veterinary Examining Board approved my service as long as customers understand I am not a veterinarian and I must direct customers to a veterinarian if I notice anything abnormal.
Q. What process do I use to remove the plaque?
A. I developed my own tool to safely remove the plaque.
Q. Will I sell or describe my tool?
A. No, it is not patented at this time.
Q. Do I put anything in the dog's mouth to hold it open?
A. Absolutely not.
Q. How do I get the dog to hold still?
A. I don't, I wait until the dog holds still.
Q. Is there a charge if the dog does not cooperate?
A. There is no charge.
Q. Do I give the dog anything to keep them calm?
A. I do not.
Q. Is there any preparation for the dog prior to appointment?
A. There is not.
Q. Does the dog have any pain afterward?
A. No, they are perfectly good to continue on their day.😊
Q. What is the cost?
A. Dogs 35 pounds and under are $100. Larger dogs range between $125 and $200.
Q. How long does it take?
A. The session is one hour. Sometimes a dog will need a second session. The cost is half of the original price and takes one hour.
Q. Can it be done the same day as other services?
A. Yes, it can.
Q. Do I remove all plaque?
A. No, I am able to remove the majority of plaque from the outside of the dog's teeth. Occasionally, I am able to remove some from the inside.
Q. Do I pull teeth?
A. No, I do not. I let the owner know if I see any loose, damaged or rotting teeth.
