I fall more and more in love with Leroy every day.

Leroy has completed his Heartworm injection series and will hopefully test negative at a 6-9 month retest! We are still on activity rest for another month or so but you can tell he feels better.

It is so refreshing to have a dog that you can leave loose without worrying about destruction.

Most times I check on him he is curled up in a little Leroy ball enjoying a nap.

When Leroy is not napping, he LOVES eating and squeaking his toy.

For a dog that likely spent awhile neglected and limited to an outside chain, he is so well behaved and easy to care for.

Please share Leroy. I will transport him almost anywhere if he could have his very own family. 🥲

Molly has required significant vetting to address chronic ear infections. Her most recent bill today was around $720 and this is just starting her specialist journey. Molly is an absolute dream, the most laidback girl, around 10 years old. She’s heading to the dermatologist tomorrow to see if we can address these ear infections that have been giving her trouble. Specialist consults alone are pricey so we appreciate any donations towards her appt.

🩷 Huge thanks to foster momma Christine for taking Buffie to her cataracts evaluation appointment this morning in Mt. Pleasant—a two-hour trek from here! Christine started the day bright and early, hitting the road with sweet Buffie riding co-pilot, her favorite spot. 🚙

🧑‍⚕️ The team at the Animal Eye Institute completed all the necessary diagnostics to determine if Buffie could undergo cataract surgery, which had an 80% vision recovery prognosis. Sadly, the ultraviolet scan revealed that her retinas are completely atrophied, ruling out any possibility of restoring her vision. This was 💔 heartbreaking news for everyone involved—Christine, the veterinary team, and us, especially Michelle.

👀 Buffie will need daily eye drops to prevent glaucoma, and next on her care plan is a dental cleaning 🪥 in February during Dental Care Month. While this wasn’t the outcome we’d hoped for, Buffie’s journey to a wonderful quality of life continues, thanks to everyone’s love and support—especially Christine’s dedication and Michelle’s selfless quick action when she was asked to take Buffie into the rescue. 🥰

Donations are so appreciated and they help with Buffie’s ongoing care. Let’s give this sweet girl all the love she deserves! 🩷🐾

🤩 UPDATE! 🤩 We’re thrilled to update you on Matilda, now lovingly called Heidi, who has come so far since her rescue on October 11th from under an abandoned house. After seven weeks of boarding at the vet to treat multiple illnesses, we worried how she’d adjust to a foster home full of dogs—but Heidi has amazed us all! In just five days, she’s blossomed and is becoming more confident daily and is truly a very grateful happy girl. She trots outside without a leash in her fenced yard, does her business, and races back inside. She’s effortlessly made friends with every dog in her foster home, big and small, even sharing her bed with a few of the littlest ones. Heidi loves being by her foster mom’s side, whether she’s working or cooking, and Heidi is soaking up all the love she can get. With good food, a warm bed, her meds, and lots of care, Heidi is finally learning what it means to be loved. 💛

🏡 Foster homes are truly the heart of rescue, especially for dogs like Heidi. Watching a dog learn to accept love and discover how to “dog” is a life-changing experience and a vital part of their journey.
