A pumpkin decided it would rather go soft instead of growing..but the chickens sure don't mind!
If you listen, you can hear X, the roo, telling all the girls that he found something delicious!

Who else loves these sounds? I think I could listen to the birds, the crickets and the sounds of Luke and his posse munching hay for hours!
Bear turns 40 today, so we took him out for lunch and had cake after dinner. Goat boy didn't finish his carrot cake, so the chickens got a little birthday treat too.
Peep the single baby brave enough to get a bite now that Coretta doesn't hold their hands. The others weren't left out though, they had (under)car-side service.
I love their little feeding frenzy though, haha.
When you have free range chickens, every day is easter.

Coretta doesn't appreciate one of the speckles trying to est the food thar is clearly for HER babies, and no one else ๐

Luke is absolutely loving the goats next door. He likes to smell the baby, and last night decided he really needed to taste his legs too ๐

Day 9 of 30
Miss Rory has been here since the summer, and just this week has been willing to sniff my hand. She's all about rubs on her neck/chest/ears..but the white part of her muzzle is a no go for touches. We're getting there though, and it makes me SO happy.
We are getting everything set up for the bunnies Nature's Heritage Farm is bringing for the artist...in the meantime, our kitties are more than happy to take advantage of a new watering spot.
Do their faces fit in? Absolutely not. Does that stop them? Also no.
Rory was absolutely full of it tonight. I was taking Tom out but had to stop and watch the goofy girl with her zoomies (that only Theo wanted to take part in)...I was shocked Luke didn't join!
Luke apparently decided to partake in one of his favorite games today....Stir the Donkeys! He was very successful this round, managing to separate one donkey from the pack to stir more thoroughly than the others. Note Red's very crafty decision to hide behind the plants to avoid this round of the game ๐
5 out of 13 went home. We found 7 in the tree. Hopefully my last speckled Sussex girl makes an appearance tomorrow, they apparently aren't ready to call their winter lodgings home yet ...
As soon as their door opens, 7 of Nature's Heritage Farm 's hens come immediately into the barn. I found these two enjoying a dust bath.
This video also features the sounds of Luke and Red protesting their stall rest, and the beginnings of a rooster crow-off ๐
I love watching these boys play! Rocket does a great job reminding Tom who is the boss.
Theo spent last night and this morning keeping Red company inside. I let him out at lunchtime and his girls made it VERY clear how much they missed him ๐
