While improving the quality of life and welfare for over 1,500 domestic animals in the Marquette area each year, UPAWS sees annual expenses of over $400,000 while maintaining their No-Kill philosophy. These costs include their general operating costs, fundraising expenses, building improvement expenses, and the cost of paying their 11 salary-based employees. UPAWS is thankful to have hundreds of v
olunteers at the shelter and those participating in fundraising events, but what about the employees that are there every single day? With our campaign we hope to raise at least $3,000 to go towards the General Fund that will help deter some of the costs associated with UPAWS employee expenses. This would allow more of the fundraising event benefits to go directly towards helping each animal at UPAWS find their forever home. What’s in it for you? Of course we want to say thank you for all of the generous donations we receive on our indiegogo.com campaign site, so we have set up a perk program to give thanks to our supporters. With a $5 donation you will receive a personal thank you email with a picture from one of the pets currently at UPAWS hoping to find their forever home.
