Henhouses are lit up with heat lamps for the long haul. All the hens are doing well and most young ones are still laying well. Happy New Year!

Geez, I was gone for 15 minutes to cut more greens and they tore the whole right side apart!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr..

We don't use this page often enough to let people know about eggs. This time of year (just when everyone wants to cook!) hens molt and production goes down but we have many young hens who are VERY productive at the moment. There are 8+ dozen eggs out this morning. THE HENS WOULD LOVE YOUR OLDER LETTUCE, FRUITS AND BREADS. You can leave in a bag on top of the fridge. Thx!

Pick up eggs before tomorrow's 12" snowstorm. Spend the afternoon baking. :) Fed non-GMO, certified organic feed. We always welcome your older bread, fruits and veggies for the ladies as it breaks up their monotonous winter! No peppers or onions please.

We see lots of donated egg cartons here that are USDA certified eggs from CAGE-FREE hens. Is the feed also GMO free? Thought you might want to see what cage-free means commercially. A step up from battery cages for sure but smelly and ammonia filled housing nonetheless. Do you see any windows?

We don't use this page often but probably should. Many of our "seasoned" layers are molting right now and the young hens are just starting to lay, so as it happens every year at this time just when we all want to bake, there is a shortage of eggs for sale. Please take only one dozen for now and please do buy the small eggs. We can't provide you with big ones unless we start with the little ones!

The photo is of some of our young hens waiting to be let out this morning.

Saw a Monarch butterfly here today! This is not a common sight anymore. Yeah for milkweed and the butterfly plants we have preserved this year.

We thought our bees deserted us but this morning, they are EVERYWHERE packing on the pollen!

We won't be selling piglets this year. Thanks for all the folks who have bought them from us!

Days are getting longer and there are plenty of eggs!! Please purchase the smaller eggs while we have them. If you don't buy them, we don't have any incentive to keep adding to our flock every year to keep you in the big eggs that you really like. The investment in baby chicks, six months worth of care and feed for the young ones, ongoing heat lamp & heated waterer electric bills, labor to clean their houses and yards, collecting, sorting, cleaning and packaging eggs - it's all done to share the goodness of farm fresh eggs. That's it.
