Green Cat-Eyed Snakes, native to Southeast Asia, are arboreal hunters found in forests and jungles. These medium-sized snakes are rear-fanged, using their venom to help subdue prey like birds, frogs, and lizards. Adults are a vibrant green with striking features like blue chins and black mouths, while juveniles start off red, pink, or orange before turning green around two years old.

Sulcata tortoises, native to the Sahara Desert and Sahel region of Africa, are expert survivalists built for extreme conditions. These slow-moving giants dig burrows up to 10 feet deep to escape the heat, and their efficient water conservation allows them to thrive in arid environments. Surprisingly, they can also tolerate cooler temperatures and will actively seek shelter to maintain their body temperature when it gets cold.

During winter, alligators slow their metabolism in a process called brumation, creating mud holes for warmth on colder days. On warmer days, they bask in the sun, using the bony ridges on their backs, called scutes, to absorb and distribute heat. If they get too warm, they’ll open their mouths to cool off!
